Okay I am confused. If anyone here watched the ending to Conquest they say that everyone, I mean everyone was killed. They were all killed by Shadow priests. What the hell, I can see Taja and Siro being killed by them, but Kung Lao, I thought he was supposed to be killed by Goro (it is what he saw in his dreams/visions). Why did they make it this way?
Also, it said that Conquest is the prequel to the movies, but how? How can it, when you kill off characters that were in the first movie, such as Shang Tsung, Kitana, Reptile, etc.
Can someone please clarify all this confusion up?

yeah tha is why i posted the other thread the one that says "conquest ending really sucked".yeah everyone got killed by the shadow priests that includes shang tsung, taja, siro, kitana, reptile, quan chi,and kung lao himself.one reason that I BELEIVE they ended it this way is that the series was blamed for the shooting at colombine.not only that but someone on this forum said that they were having copyright issues.another thing posted on my thread was that the ending that the last two episodes that we saw were supposed to be a dream of kung lao or something like that and that it was to continue during the second season.wich never happened.tha is what i beleieved killed the series itself.it just did not go with the whole mk storyline you know it is just like what you said kung lao was supposed to be killed off by goro.actually that is what i thought the ending was about at first when i first heard the title "VENGANCE"or something like that.i wonder if they can bring the series back to life after all theese years?that would be so cool!

Agreed. I had no idea that the last two episodes that we saw were supposed to be a dream of Kung Lao in order for a second season to arise. However, I do agree that they were having 'business' troubles such as copyright and shooting. The series was very popular, but TNT pulled the damn plug on it and left us with a cliff hanger ending (which would be just Kung Lao's dream). Oh and about a comeback . . . your damn right that would be fuckin awesome. Finish the series the way it is supposed to be. Make a second season!

As for how can Kung Lao be killed by shadow priests...Unless my memory is wrong he really didn't get a chance to fight back. The trio (Kung Lao, Taja and Siro) just didn't have enough room when the shadow priests swarmed them.
Maybe someday they'll do a remake of Conquest series like they did for Dark Shadows. The idea and basic story is good but it was a shame it had to end way sooner than expected. Until they either start re-airing, or remaking the series I guess we'll just have to be happy with fan fiction or the like.

Yes, Kung Lao, Taja, and Siro were all surronded by Shadow Priests. The Shadow Priests in the last ending killed everyone they could get their hands on. True, he did not get a chance to fight back, and if he did, the Shadow Priest would have been defeated sooner or later. But, in the end don't you remember Shao Kahn pulling items out of the chest.
Here they were:
"In Kahn’s throne room, a beaten Raiden is brought before the Emperor as Kahn displays his gifts. Opening the treasure box, he produces Reptile’s mask, Quan Chi’s blades, Shang Tsung’s vest, Queen Vorpax’s robe, Kitana’s fan, Siro’s dagger, Taja’s metal finger protector, and Kung Lao’s shirt, proclaiming them all dead."--MK Conquest the official site.
A remake, I am not sure, but a second season, yes. It was believed that the last two episodes were a dream Kung Lao had, which would make sense, leaving the 'cliffhanger' ending open for a second season, which would have summed up the series and corresponded with the MK timeline.
