I seriously had to address this as a black person myself and i sincerely hope that this post doesn't offend anyone of any race or ethnicity but... What is up with so many people ticked with Jax's character? Everytime Jax is brought up in a sentence with Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, someone always has to throw in some dumb comment about Jax..."Jax looked great, but why did Jax have to be so ghetto?" or "They turned Jax into a hood rat in that movie." These comments are so dumb, because its so stereotypical. Just because he's black doesn't mean he's ghetto. For crying out loud, the man uses a bit of slang and a bit of a southern accent and everyone's whining about how ghetto he sounded. THAT really doesn't offend me. Its the fact that just about everyone thinks Jax should be some proper talking militant YES man just because his background is that he's a soldier. My cousin Tobias is black and he's a 1st sergeant in the national guard and currently fighting overseas in Iraq and he acts just like Jax...acted the same way before he was in the military and even now that he's in the military. Jax was one of the best characters in the movie and since Johnny died so stupidly early...Jax's character actually kinda made the movie funny. C'mon jes lie and say u didn't laugh at least once in MKA because of somethin Jax said. FINAL WORD. Jax was not ghetto, he was a regular black person. Believe me takes one to know one.

Touchy subject. Many people found the Annihilation Jax to have an exaggerated street slang. I think the actual actor was a rapper at the time, so his character was simply role setting. It is strange that the Annihilation Jax was definitely unsimilar to the Jax of the original, back then he was a "Yes" man -- though we didn't see much of him (yelling at Sonya to come back on the docks). The second Jax angered some because in actor recognition, he somehow got younger. He was funny in the way that his presence was slightly agitating. Sorry if I offended all Jax lovers, but he was really annoying in Annihilation. My thoughts, anyway. Please don't respond negatively on this thread to others posts for fear of WWIII.

Oh boy......I thought that Jax was a bit of a loudmouth who was clearly the comic relief in the movie(As most black characters in action movies tend to be).He wasn't That bad though, I've seen several worse stereotypes in other movies that out "ghetto" Jax.

*cant wait to see what this guy says when he reads that one guy's post about Ice Cube playing Jax in another thread*I seriously had to address this as a black person myself and i sincerely hope that this post doesn't offend anyone of any race or ethnicity but... Then I guess the person who made the comment is dumb and ignorant...I think Gorialith is right tho Jax was younger in MKA which made it kinda dumb...but no Red Williams, the guy who played Jax, was never a rapper(another stereotype)...he's been an actor for a while and also done a bit of modeling. His profile is on IMDB.com....to think about it tho...so say Jax was a bit annoying is right but its part of what made him funny...just like Johnny Cage in the first movie...cuz at first I thought he was annoying with all the whining and smart ass remarks to Sonya and others...but he ended up being funnier than i expected...Oh well they both should return in the next movie Jonny and Jax...double the comedy baby!
