TO be honest since you already pointed out there is plenty to go with the plot then someone probably said ,Robin,is there any plans on a new mk movie......i don't really think so,where would we go?Maybe he doesnt know the story line to the game and in plus the game and movie storylines are different.So from the movie storyline he probably thinks it kinda over and whatnot.

That's probably the case as it was known that Robin hadn't played the game nor was very familiar with the series before he made the movies.

IMO, Liu Kang is not going to be in the movies, so Robin wasn't told of anything.
