not going to be a very good movie already by the sounds of it.

For a start it can hardly be before Liu Kangs time - considering (as far as i am aware) that neither Sub Zero or Liu Kang have a huge age gap between them.

If they wanted to start from the begining they should have done it with either the Great Kung Lao or at the first Tournament (which is what people are expecting).

we know that Robin Shou won't appear in the next MK movie since august 2006,and if i'm not worng i posted that info,or maybe it was another site???...it doesn't matter.

how can you say to me that its gonig to be a remake without having liu kang in it if it was a remake then all of the same characters woud be in it wudnt they thyey are doing the whole thing again form cratch and it is gonig to be set before the liu kang period it is noty a remaek of the first one at all it is a whole new project that will be very very shit

Liu kang isnt robin shou,so some other actor can play as liu

i think what he means is, in that comment by Robin, it says that "the story takes place before liu kangs time", and that liu kang will not be in this movie - while i don't know if this is true of not - if Liu Kang wasn't in the new MK movie and it was about Sub Zero, my bet is that it will be piss poor like MK2 movie...

exactly my point liu kang is NOT in this film and that meens if sub zero is the main character then it will suck .........i love subby and think hes an amazing character but it wud be better as its before kangs time then it shud be kung lao

There is no MK 3 anymore. It's a remake of MK, Robin Shou is reportedly reprising his role as Liu Kang.

Robin Shou is in his 40s. No fucking way will he reprise his role.

He turns 48 this year, to be exact.

I don't think it's a problem at all, as he's still in top shape and he fits well for the role of Liu Kang - experienced Champion of MK. Not to mention, he still looks younger than MK3's Liu

The movie wont suck JUST BECAUSE SHOU isn't in the movie.

Actually I read an excerpt from his personal blog and he said he was dissapionted because he couldnt get the role or something along those lines. I saw it in the movies section of MKO.

Uhh, dude, Shou wouldn't look like Shang Tsung even if you get the best make-up artists in the acting business.

But why are you all disappointed? The guy wasn't that great of an actor, the only thing I will say is that he made a great resemblence of what Liu should loo like... a little... not to mention the hot bod... but I'm getting off topic.

It's just, I wouldn't mind seeing the third movie, if there is such a thing, with no Liu Kang in it. We got fine with Deadly Alliance when Liu got killed off... even though he made a dumb reappearance in Deception.

All I'm saying is that... who cares who's in this so called third movie or not. And age doesn't really matter... seriously? The guy who plays as Malfroy in Harry Potter is 21, yet they're not finding another person to replace him.

Anyway, Shou was pretty good in the first movie, but was disappointing in the second.

Yeah actually, Shou's acting was really bad in MKA. Probably due to direction, but still.
