Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa was interviewed recently by the folks at Media Mikes where he talks about reprising his role as Shang Tsung and "Revenge". The sorcerer donned an alike appearance in Kenshi's vignette as well – the strange, old man he is. The full article can be read over here. Discuss.

The pictures inside the article reveal that Shang Tsung isn't in fact completely bald when there is that tiny ponytail quite similar to Sub-Zero's alt. cos. in MK:D.

Those shots are from Revenge.

However, he probably will have and has the ponytail even "in the picture" (for future Revenge episodes) because why would they cut his ponytail away specifically for the role of Shang Tsung who has previously had one?

Fake hair [pony tail] is not in the realm of impossibility in the 21st century.

If he goes bald for one role, it's not a major road block.

It certainly isn't, no. You'd think one would have something more secular than a piece of a wig when you're talking about whole seasons though.

Wigs and fake facial hair aren't expensive. And can look perfectly realistic, take every character in The LotR/Hobbit flicks for example.

So there's no excuse for Shang not to look like he does in the games beyond a big ol' "fuck you, I wanna do it different."

In the end, Shang Tsung will probably have some hair, like a gray wig perhaps. If not, there's still a fair chance that the ponytail will remain.
