This is my first time on this thread so I don't know if this was ever brought up, but should the Immortals return to do the opening soundtrack for Devestation, or should the MK theme be changed to something else?

I personally dont think they should, but I think alot of fans would go crazy if that song wasnt in there. I think the music should be done by a great composer like Hans Zimmer or Harry Gregson Williams, more of an actual movie score. I know some people would think that it wouldnt fit MK but I know it would, could add a new dimension of emotion to the movie

SmokeNC, I think there was an 'Electronica or Metal for mk3' thread a little while ago, but not anything specificaly about the Immortals...

You make a good point holy_fluck (welcome to the forums by the way), but I personaly like the MK theme, and would like to see it remixed a lot (not just a little like MKA) so that it still resembles the orginal themes, but doesn't sound mid-90's-ish. If they remixed, and made it sound more with the times, but making sure the parts of the original remain, it would be very cool...

I agree 100%. I would really like to see some sort of orchestrated version of the original MK theme.

Thanks for the positive replies. I loved the mortal kombat theme before but I think it would kinda cheesy now, especially the screaming of "MORTAL KOMBAT!!" It would be great to have a nice score, maybe something along the lines of the Last Samurai score for the 'emotional' scenes or something. Like I said before, music can play a huge part in the movie. Id probably keep the licensed hard rock music to a minimum and maybe only a little bit of techno, but thats it.

of course they should I really dont imagine this next movie complete without their participation. rammstein made a heck of a difference and i think he should bust out some songs. as for the rest of you scumbags, go to the nether reaches!!! :p:legacy_sleep:tongue

Dan Forden and Rich Carie and Vince Pntorelli (can't spell) did such a great job with the games they'd probably do a good job of the movie soundtrack

They should return for ONE song, make it a tradition, but they have to spend time on it, unlike their other tracks [the mk theme tune was a lucky break for them]

If there's no scream of MORTAL KOMBAT!!! during the New Line Cinema logo then you'll know the movie is going to suck.

eather an orcistrated version or a good old metal version. but definatly they would have to lighten up on the electronic sounds. >.< sorry but the MKA version was just too... weird.

Man if Michael Kamen hadn't died I think he would have been perfect to do orchestration for this movie. He did the live orchestration with Metallica a few years back and on most of the songs it was excellentwink
