Should they have another shot at a TV series?

In truth, the MK plot has never been thicker. There has never been so many characters, so many designs, so much potential yet the series spawned two movies and two series in it's early days. So what about now? Another MK series? Do you think they should have another shot at it.
I enjoyed Mortal Kombat Conquest, although it didn't feel very Mortal Kombat to me. It was like a really tame show trying to be dark and evil. The actors weren't bad but certainly weren't great and the plot was quite decent. Still I enjoyed it but I would rather something set in Modern Day MK times with characters I actually like.
That being said I also really enjoyed Defenders of The Realm. Despite it being corny and aimed at younger viewers I much rathered the cartoon. Perhaps because it featured more Mortal Kombat characters and kept more closely to the MK plot. In addition, if they were to go down the cartoon route they wouldn't need to find actors who not only looked the part but could act and fight. Animation would be the easy way out as all of DOTR's voice actors were quite good.
I personally would like another animated series but this time aimed at adults, loaded with characters, blood, gore, true MK settings and a plot. Perhaps revolving around the last three games in the series. The first part of the series deals with Deadly Alliance, the next Deception and ending the series with Armageddon.
I was just watching DOTR there a minute ago and I realised how much I enjoyed it. However, I know many enjoyed Conquest more...for some reason.
Anyway, thoughts?

Well it would be pretty great if they had another go at it, but it would be highly unlikely that they would.
The conquest was pretty decent, alright characters, all pretty people, etc, but thing I didn't enjoy was the made up characters throughout, would of been so much better to stick to more known characters and less on ones we don't know to the series.
DOTW, I bought the 3 pack series off ebay for like £3 about 2 years ago, I watched the first episode, and as soon as Sonya said 'It's Kombat Time!", I sighed, and turned off the T.V.
I couldn't honestly stand it.
If they where to take a shot at it again, I think a westered style cartoon/anime would be quite cool, especially if they got some people from across the world to help make it, because american anime isn't exactly the best thing in the world.
I think I'd prefair a series, if they went off with more characters we knew, stuck to a plot we knew from the games and did it on how we knew exept with more detail, interaction with characters, and brutal fight scenes.

Although I watched the movies, I never watched much of MK:Conquest. I saw a few clips from YouTube and they were quite amazing. MK:DOTR, I never watched it though I saw some pics. I agree about the MK:DOTR being corny and aiming towards younger audiences. I read the synopsis (sp?) of the cartoon and wasn't impressed much.
If they decided to make another series, I would be quite happy though I doubt it. A cartoon/anime type of series would be nice. I agree with how the animated series should be aimed at adults, with the storyline around the time of the last three games.

I keep hoping that they would make an animated MK series like some of the 'darker' cartoons of the late 90's (ie Gargoyles and Batman).
I enjoyed MK:DOTR since, unlike most people it seems, I like a little corn humor once in a while so long it doesn't go overboard. And for the genre (sp?) of MK:DOTR it was pretty good. Consider that it was on the same line up as Dragon, Wing Commander, etc cartoons. (Ah yes, USA Cartoon Express....I miss you) All of them was a little corny but they were good early Sat or Sun morning fun.
MK: Conquest could have been better but then the same can be said of Hercules and Xena. I always thought the only reason why MK: Conquest was made to begin with was the popularity of these two shows. It was obvious that it was aimed at the same type of viewers the producers 'thought' was watching Herc and Xena.
What was sad was just when the majority of the actors really got into character they ended the series. The only actors I thought who really fit/knew their parts was Jeffery Meeks (both as Rayden and Shao Kahn) and the actress who played Vorpax (can't remember her name, sorry). Everyone else, seemed to needed a little time to figure out how their character should act.

I never saw MK: DOTR. But I watched every episode of MK: Conquest. I really think it was the best series i have ever seen. It really sucked that the cancelled it. I enjoyed every episode, probably because I am a huge MK fan, and it just seemed like a really good series to watch. But I don't think it compares to Hercules or Xena... I couldn't watch those. But, I really want Conquest to come back.

For Sure!
But not a live action series again, thats too dated now.
I want to see another animated version but with high defenition grapgics and cgi. Something like Beast Wars. MK in this realm of animation would kick so much ass.

I'd like to see a manga style, ultra violent, really dark style Mortal Kombat series.
True anime has no boundaries, and could fully exhibit the brutality that MK is famed for. Seems the games will never again go in the direction of MK1 and 2 in terms of gore and shock value, so unless they make MK: Devastation an 'R' film (which they wont, to maximize revenue) then a manga MK cartoon is the only way we will see the true gruesome aspects of MK once again.
The whole series is dark and mythical, ideal for a black anime cartoon.
