Playstation magazine(Novemember 2009 issue) has a article about video game movies and MK 3 was mentioned here is the article Hollywood Remains game crazy:
"Mortal Kombat 3
Coming 2010
A third MK movie is in the works and it's going to be a re-boot of the popular '90's franchise rather than a sequel. The first videogame adaptation shot in 3D, the movie was actually supposed to be filmed in Louisiana before Hurricane Katrina hit, so plans has changed. But the movies is moving foward."

Well small news is good news, rather than no news.

Thats good. Is there any official thing that says the movie is going to come out for sure? Confirmed?

Nothing new... Neither Warner nor Threshold say anything about it. Chris Casamassa said in july that shooting would begin in September 2009, but I don't see any news for sure.

As far as this news, I'm still not believing it. Who's making it? WB doesn't own the rights and Threshold or whatever it's called, is right now dealing with suing for the movie rights and stuff like that, who's making it?

Not to mention, it's not even saying anything about who's going to be in it, what's the story going to be about. As of right now, I'm not believing this is true.

I'd assume WB because the article states for Spy Hunter movie is going to be produced by them when the rights for midway are now under them....

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/07/06/warner_bros_buys_midway_game_assets/

This article states under the deal movie rights are giving to Warner Bros... so there's your answer... and yes I believe its news worthy based on all movies now-a-days are going 3d... for example the final destination.... and I think Iron man 2 is being considered to be filmed in 3d or what not... Yes this news is unbelievable but we thought the same when Midway announced MK vs DCU video game and the rumors leading to it official announcement...

3D? We'll be lucky if it even goes to theatres at all.

I don't know what to make of this; right now it seems unlikely, but I'm also thinking about whether it should really happen or not.
There's hardly a point to make a third MK movie, much less make it 3D.

I agree with the first half of your statement, but considering the fact that the WB bought Midway and the rights to MK, it's sure to take full advantage of the concept of a third film, reboot or not. They know that people have been waiting a long time for it, and with a new financial backer, this movie could turn out to be even better than the original, perhaps go into more depth with the characters. 3-D or not, I think it's a good idea that they're making an announcement about it for a change as well instead of us hearing from actors who're still waiting to get started.

I actually bought the magazine and didn't notice it's the one you're talking about... I'm shocked, their list left out Warcraft. They're making a Warcraft movie...

Getting back though, why I can't just accept this is because so many people have been saying, "oh it's coming out in 2010" for a while. The information about the Louisiana film shots, yeah, I knew that long before the article... I'm just not believing it until I see some proof. Yo know? I mean, if this was a serious article, and that omigosh they're making a re-boot, there would be at least more news about it, more coverage of the re-booting movie. One tiny itty bitty article on one page isn't good enough. And you're like, "How much information you need to finally understand there's another movie or a remake or something?" Simple, you or anyone else gives me information that isn't from the past, that's not a rumor, and that's not false information. But how? Hard to do so, because so many other users try to show information about the next movie, but... their proof isn't proof because it's not true, not real, or too old.

But seriously, The Rock in one of the best arcade games ever? They're so going to ruin Spyhunter. I got that soothing music in my head.

Whoops, my bad; no statement was made, I only assumed not realizing that fraysol posted a direct quote from the article, which doesn't mention any statements.

Exactly... and it wasn't even Chris Cassamassa saying the movie will be in 3D, it was a playstation magazine. For all we know someone made that up, or it was a typo that was interpreted wrongly somehow...

I've been talking with Musetta Vander (she's in Myspace) and she said
"they already start filming with a totally new cast. Unfourtunatelly non of the old actors will reprise their roles.

You really believe that's her? I have Ender Thomas, a famous singer in Yanni, as a friend on Myspace, and even I have my doubts that he's really the creator of his page.

Even if it's the real Musetta Vander...

Why the hell would Musetta Vander, someone who (like ''she'' said) has nothing to do with the new movie, know anything about it and have the liberty to discuss it like that?

No.

Musetta also said she is a friend of the producers and
of a few of the actors of MK:A, like Marjean Holden (Sheeva).

Yes and I'm sure Marjean is returning for the third movie.

A credible statement will come from credible sources.

No, the myspace of an actress who has nothing to do with the movie doesn't count, somehow.

When the producers or director make a statement, that's when it should be taken seriously.

According to IMDB? Do you know that the site has held the same information about "MK 3" for more than 10 years? Surprisingly that they don't have Christopher Lambert and Robin Shou reprising their roles suddenly.

And as stated numerous times, this movie will not be made for quite some time. IF there's any source of information that's actually useful for this kind of story, I'm afraid that there's no such thing as a third movie even in the progress of being made.

It's funny how several actors from the previous movies states there will be a third one, but they have no involvement whatsoever in the next film... how the heck do they get their resources then? From the other producers or whatever? I highly doubt it, not to mention, the whole Musetta Myspace thing... any famous person who has a Facebook page or Myspace, I doubt it's them behind everything... Seriously, it's common sense why I would not believe such a thing.

Even that Rich Divizo user on this site. How the hell do you all know if that's really him or not?
