As according to IMBD. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293429/)
Even if this is still post-production speculation, it still looks as if the route they're trying to take for the movie is that of MK4, seeing as how they have both Quan Chi and Fugin casted. (quite pleased Quan Chi is the same guy from Conquest, and who they have lined up as Fugin looks the part) This could also mean a combination between MK4 and MK:DA....but the MK4 aspect looks probable.
Again, this could be bullshit, and I'm sorry if someone else has already posted something to this effect. Just felt the need to get other's views.

It's interesting how he's credited, but recently he just answered a fan e-mail stating he had no clue what was going on.

I'm pretty sure I speak for a majority of MK movie fans when I say Christopher Lambert *made* the role of Raiden. He was the first to give it personality and a soul to the character. Notice how in Conquest and Defenders of the Realm, Raiden has the same personality and quirks that Lambert gave to the role in the first movie. To me, he *is* Raiden.
James Remar, while a competant actor, just did not fit the role. I don't know if it was the script or what, but he was too stoic and stuffy in the film. I just didn't see him as Raiden, especially after what Lambert gave us.
To me, bringing back Chris Lambert to reprise the role of Raiden is a logical step in redeeming the MK film franchise.
