They made him the way they wanted him. Maybe he was just ment to be a 'sissy' in the movie as you so blantly put it.

I think they tried to make the movie too much like the game. I mean literally, they made Sub-Zero one of those annoying, cheesy fighters you keep up against every now and then. Not letting you attack, just trying to get the hell away from you and jab every now and then. What they should have done was just make him a ruthless fighter like Scorpion or even Reptile. I know he's only human in comparison to the other 2 but still he pushes himself to the limit as well and they should have shown that....Oh well. At least his brother was more of a kickass, head-on fighter in the movie.

If he really was the master of ice, which he is, he should have been able to like stop the ice spike in the air, turn it around and throw it back, then keep the fight going.

I think that the fight against liu kang in the first movie against subzero was a total waste of time. Subzero is a much cooler character than what they portrayed him in the movie. A Subzero vs Scorpion fight would have been worth seeing.

Yea, cause in Sub-Zero's storyline Scorpion was the one who killed him, thus they fought in Mortal Kombat. An Sub-Zero didn't use an ice attack against Liu Kang expect that gay sphere he made around himself which wasn't really an attack using ice cause he made it probabaly just to play with Liu Kang. He should have thrown some ice balls like he did in the demonstration.
