Wait until you get into university before bringing up grades. I used to be a great writer by high school standards, but once you hit post-secondary, the professors' will be all too eager to tear your work apart.
Simply put: don't put too much emphasis on grade school English marks, because they most grade school English courses don't prepare you for the really difficult and picky stuff you encounter once you're in university.
Of course, you could be in university now, for all I know, but still, middle-school grades onwards still aren't the best indicator of writing ability.
Anyway, I'm not overly fond of the plot. Since you say Shao Kahn has been defeated, is this following the previous two movies' story lines? (I hope not, given what a terrible waste the second movie was. I wouldn't find a Shinnok carried over from Annihilation at all threatening thanks to that train wreck.) And Raiden speaks in an somewhat casual manner for a "These are the words of Raiden" introduction - I'd expect the phrasing to be more solemn and formal for this kind of situation. Even if it is a Lambert/Meek-esque "casual" Raiden, I still think that he would address the goings-on with more formal language. But that's just the vibe I get from it, I don't know if anyone else is getting it.
