I was soooooo excited I was ten when I saw the first commercial and I instantly asked my mom. I remember in it they showed Cage in a gray suit in a forest and Scorpion's spear flew past and he took off his sunglasses. When I saw Reptile I couldn't wait until he turned into a ninja and I think that how they introduced Sub and Scorp was cool.

I expected it to be a fight-to-the-death tournament called Mortal Kombat.

I was definitely disappointed with Scorpion.

I expected it to be very bloody. What a dissapointment that was.

I remeber the commercial in The Netherlands, they played the techno tune and you would see the caracters. I even taped the commercial and i watched it like 20 times before it actually came in the theaters.

I was mostly dissapointed with Shang Tsung, he was not the old-shape shifting mofo i came to respect in the game

Was pleasently surprised at the storyline and acting. Esp. since I didn't pay any attention to what actors were in the movie, so I was kinda shocked at seeing the 'Highlander' appearing at the temple. Let's just say I was still recovering from watching that crappy Street Fighter movie and my expectations weren't too high for the MK movie. However, I was a little disappointed at the lack of special moves and Rayden not fighting. I thought they would be a little closer to the MK1/MK2 story and have Rayden in 'mortal form' and competing also. The fight scenes were a little short also, but I guess it was either an all fight 'kung-fu' movie or a good story. I think they did a good balance in the first movie....

The second one however, they didn't get either right. *sigh* That one I had high hopes for, because the first one was so good.

I just saw MK about a year ago on DVD, it wasn't what I expected, but compared to MK:A, it was heaven. Mortal Kombat Annihalation wasn't a movie-It was a sad excuse for a big waste of time.
