Where should MK3 start?

Just wondering, do you guys think MK3 should start where MKA left off? Or should they forget Annihilation, and begin a new story?

About Me
They were crying when their sons left. God is wearing black. He has come so far to find no hope, he's never coming back. They were crying when their sons left, all young men must go, he has come so far to find the truth he is never going home...

Yeah I agree MKA's storyline was just so poor. I think they should start out with Liu meditating in the temple having visions about his ancestor Kung Lao and like his father senses danger.

WHY MK:DA isin't on COMPUTER :'(

i dunno about Liu but i'd like to see something like this...when Quan Chi is escapeing Netherrealm and Scorpion chasing after him...then Quan finds some ''secret'' portal and uses it ..soo then he meets Shang bla bla bla The End

I would hope they would forget about MK:A and start off some time after the first movie. Just give the heroes enough time to get back to a 'normal' life and then let hell break loose.
If they decide to keep the MK:A story....it wouldn't really too bad since the Raiden/Kahn brother thing can easily be overlooked since Kahn was killed (I know death is temp in MK) and even in the game storyline will not make an active appearence for some time. Once again I would like some more time to pass between movies. With some flashbacks of Johnny's trip to the afterlife would be nice too.

Well I was also hoping that they forget the Raiden / Shao Kahn brother thing. How can a thunder god and demon emperor be brothers? Hopefully they'll do what you said, and leave Kahn out of it. Perhaps the DK could be the new antagonist, if he is as awesome as I think he will bein MKD

Yeah, they need to leave a good bit of time. Since Liu is the champ - he will not age, and since Kitana is 10,000 years old - one generation wouldn't age her either. Both of those can still be in it, along with Raiden and Cage (who will be brought back to life by Raiden) But maybe Sonya and Jax can be dead, and we find out what happened to the OIA. I would also like to see what happens to a champ after he wins, would Liu go back to being a fisherman, or would he train new fighters? (maybe that's how Kung Lao could finaly be in a MK movie!!)

Not only should they DEFINITELY forget about MKA in MK3. They should say MKA was all a false dream. It would be a very quick and easy way to explain why Johnny Cage is not dead. I think MK3 should really continue maybe a month after where MK1 left off. The end of MK1 didn't happen either. After Liu won the tournament. Sonya and Johnny Cage went back to their usual lives and homes in the U.S., Kitana stayed in Outworld, and Liu Kang decided to stay at the temple for a while. If MKA were to be a false dream put on Liu Kang to get him to think he could defeat anybody, than this will lead up to his death scene.
I don't know about you guys but I think the only good way to make it look like MKA did not happen is by saying it was a false dream.

I know I'm a little wierd, but I think they should just start where mka left off. Like a few months or a year afterwards. I mean, I liked some of the things that happened in MKA, like Johnny dying for Sonya, and I'd like them to stay that way. Like, if everybody just goes their seperate ways, then what about Kitana and Liu? And what about Johnny and Sonya? I mean, I know this might not matter to most guys, but I liked the romance part of the stories as well.
Plus, its better to have the Shao Kahn/Earth realm fight, even if it is a little wrong, rather than just skip it all together! I don't want to watch them fight Kahn again. I'd rather see them go to MK4/MK:DA

No, remember what happened in the beginning of MKDA? That can happen to Kahn as well in MK3. They can have Quan Chi and Shang Tsung kill him just before he attempts to invade earth.

since shao kahn is alredy dead they should just have quan chi escape and let him rule the outworld
