Other then the expected characters( kang, the ninjas, cage, sonya) I like to see Kung lao. he's one of the lesser known characters, and I think he would make for some cool visuals...

The least characters possible. Depending on what story's being told. But if they do the MK1 storyline, I'd like to see the cast of the first game, and maybe a couple of other extra characters, like Kitana, Kung Lao, human Sektor, Smoke or Cyrax, and Shao Kahn.

I want to see Baraka done with actually good makeup effects

QUAN CHI because his cameo in MK Annihilation was cut, he was going to be the key villain in MK Devastation which never got made and his/Scorpions/Sub Zero's story is one of the best in the MK series-plus he's an awesome villain and the only one I can't see being defeated easily, also TANYA and STRYKER need more live action -both great characters I want to see explored more, and KENSHI who I believe will go far in the MK universe

Hmm... well, I won't mention the obvious MK1-MK2-MK3 characters, so:

So honestly it needs to be a good story teller. The film in my opinion should have the following:

I think it's obvious that I would like a lot of the comic book characters to fit the roles of what would normally be "extras" in this film. Give them some purpose. I would absolutely HATE to see the reboot use elements from MK 2011 and mix up MK1, MK2, and MK3 all into one. I would boycott the fucking film and rally others to my cause. I really would.

I would like see the same characters as on the game.

I just hope they don't make the mistake of trying to get every single MK character in the game somehow. There is just too many of them. If it was a TV series, then you can rotate them in and not strain the writing. But for a 2hr movie, keep to the starting characters and a few others (Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Kano, Shang Tsung, the Sub-Zero, Scorpion and maaaaaybe the pretty princess squad) I know this sounds like a reboot of the first MK movie, but hey I actually like the first MK move. One of the reasons why the 2nd one sucked was that they try to give every MK character screen time or at least a brief mention.

If they plan on a trilogy (crosses fingers), then you can kill off or move off some of the characters from the first movie to make room for more characters in the 2nd...or do something different. While the characters from the previous movie are where ever they are, have a story with other characters going on the same timeline but elsewhere. LIke maybe Jax looking for Sonya, Kung Lao decides to help as a means to get on the island, Reptile, Ermac, etc keeping them busy while the characters in the first movie are at the tournament or whatever.

Third movie, have the survivors meet up and we finally get to see Khan.

Of course since the same people who made the YouTube series is doing this, it is very likely the movie will have absolutely nothing to do with the game's storyline except in having a few people with MK character names. So only a Mortal Kombat movie in name only. The Legacy series had great acting, great writing, etc...but had nothing to do with the game.

I agree with LadyRaiden on not having too many characters that would make the movie too cluttered and shallow. I also enjoyed the first movie, but would be a little disappointed if they just rebooted it. I think they should focus on the best story arcs of the MK series and include the characters that are apart of them.

Like have the Quan Chi, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Noob Saibot stuff. Sonya Blade/Kano/Jax/Jarek (someone to just kill off). The Lui Kang/Shang Tsung/ Reptile/ Goro/ Kung Lao/ Shao Kahn. Id also love to see the Lin Kuei robotics plot line, but already those first three story arcs might be too much for a 2 hour movie.

Overall though, as much as I hate to say it, characters like Johnny Cage, Ermac (my personal fave), Kabal, etc should be excluded since they aren't absolutely vital to the overall story of MK or the major plot arcs. Or at least I don't have faith in the directer of Legacy's ability to include them without having them turn into bland hench men or killed off as soon as they're introduced. I know not every character can get the same amount of spot light, and a cool cameo is always welcomed if done right, but leave the hench men roles to the hench men. None of that Rain from MK Annihilation shit.

The characters from MK1. Just those seven, at least as main characters. Maybe there could be some appearences by others if they work like Jax, Kitana, Kung Lao, and a few others. But it should mainly focus on the first seven if this is based on the first game. If the characters are all given the proper attention then the first game would provide enough material for two hours between telling each character's story and raw action sequences.

I know there's plenty of people who want to see Reiko, Onaga, Mokap and other fantastic characters, but if this movie goes well there will be sequels. If too many characters got packed into one movie it won't be as good. That's one of the reasons MK Annihilation sucked so bad.
