Well, my friend was watching MKA (why I don't know) and I forgot how much overpowered the cyber warriors were. Like Smoke vs. Liu Kang, Smoke was way overpowered imo. I don't think the automatons were that good.

Physical strength means little. The cyborgs are not invincible.

Well, imo, it wouldn't be much of a challenge for Liu Kang who has dragon powers. Still they are overpowered. I still don't think that a cyborg is stronger than a warrior with supernatural powers and great fighting tatics. Keep in mind too that Smoke was half decent because he still had his powers.

Just like when Raiden tells Jax that his SOTA arms are not his strength but his weakness. Same applys to a human that was turned into an automaton.

yes,but you make a little mistake.
Smoke in Mk A haven't a storyline.
The ony thing we know is that Sub Zero killed him,and Smoke worked for shao kahn.

In the canon storyline we know that nothing of this is true.
same for jax,in the canon storyline he's weaker without his bionic arms, instead in the movies is weaker with them.

My two cent sbaout the fight between Liu Kang and Smoke are:
liu Kang was afraid for Kitana that was fighting against extermination squads,he was shocked by Johnny cage death,Kitana didn't kiss him....and with all the respect also Chuck Norris is scared by a guy that can shot rockets, can turn into smoke, have a armor, and have a lot of minions on his side.

just my two cents

Yes, you're write about the storyline in MKA for Smoke.

However, Jax was only stronger by "physical strength" in his storyline. Plus, Jax is a Special Forces member, and is very naive about Mortal Kombat. Imo, Jax is weaker in the games. He knows he has real skills, but instead he shows weakness with his arms. That's why Shaolin Monks don't use modern tech, because they feel it's a sign of weakness and they know that it wouldn't make much of a difference as far as internal strength, which is what fighting is all about.

The only reason why the cyber ninjas were good is because they inherited their flawless martial arts from their Lin Kuei training as well as their powers (mainly Smoke, since we know so little about Sektor and Cyrax). I think the automaton process was mainly done to boost their skills a tad (since they were already skilled Lin Kuei), preserve their clansmen longer than a human life.

You can also say that Sektor and Cyrax were turned into automatons because they were weaker than normal Lin Kuei but they were very loyal. So they turned them into cyborgs to be up there with the others. I think that Sub-Zero was going to be an automaton to ensure that he would last longer than a human life. Smoke had the same case of Subby, except he did get transformed into a automaton.

I, however, do agree with Liu Kang being affraid for Kitana perhaps, still thinking about Johnny's death, and probably disappointed that Kitana didn't kiss him. I highly doubt Chuck Norris would know what Mortal Kombat is about. But, I think Chuck Norris wouldn't be affraid. Bruce Lee, now he could kick the shit out of the cyborgs.

Thank you for placing your inputs.

interesting reply
jax skills doen't change with or without metal arms, but he only increase his strengh.
damn right!
However in MK Shaolin Monks he doesn't use his metal arms because the game was setted during Mk2 storyline and in MK2 he didn't use any metal arms.

And about the fight between Cyrax and jax in Annihiliation:as you can see at the beginning of the fight Jax understimate cyrax and try to convince him to don't fight against each other.
After he realized that Cyrax woulnd't let him survive, jax begin to fight and attack Cyrax.

Both Cyrax and Smoke werem't overpowered, they were just lucky...at very start of the fights!

That's right. Plus, none of the Earthrealm fighters were ready yet. I do agree that they weren't overpowered, I just used "overpowered" for lack of a better word, lol.

I personally think the cyborg lin kuei should be the closest thing to the perfect fighters. They have human lin kuei bodies which grant them the great agility and reflexes of the lin kuei, but being cyborgs they dont need to breath, they dont need to drink or eat, they dont get tired, and are programed to be absolute fighting machines, which should keep them from ever hesitating. Also, having the fighting styles as software allows them to use all their potential without physical boundaries.

You make a good point. That's basically what I was saying, except nothing can triumph over a real warrior.

Imo, Jax is just as stong without his cyber arms if he uses his internal strength to benefit him. The old saying, "Inner strength become outer force." Physical strength alone is nothing. You have to have the full package.

absolutely agree with raisncain.
and btw i use this space for saying soemthing to all users:Jax is not the most skilled warrior on earth, jax is just the strongest.
but i'm sure that kung lao has more stamina, liu kang more tecnique, cage more speed, etc!
so stop believing that jax is the harder warrior of earth.

Kung Lao is skilled because he uses his intellectual strength to benefit his physical means. Liu Kang is considered not a normal human because he has lightning quick skills and has the blood of a dragon. Johnny Cage on the other hand has had a lot of training, so Cage realizes that it's mainly mind for him.

Jax is only the strongest, which is still tacky imo.

LIu Kang with the blood of a dragon? No such thing ever mentioned in the games canon. And judging from the fighting styles Kung Lao has he is a very Body-type of a fighter, no internal martial arts in sight, he uses external like Shaolin Quan and Mantis.

Liu Kang more technique? Bruce Lee discouraged the use of preset form based martial arts, he essentially taught to feel combat, not learn it by forms and presets..

And Jax is using probably one of the most speed and momentum based martial arts, namely Muai Thay. High probability that Jax is the physically most gifted warrior on Earth.

Well, in Liu Kang's movie bio, it said something about having the blood of the dragon or something like that. Though, not in the games, you are correct.

Kung Lao on the other hand, in order to use his external martial arts skills, he has to rely on inner strength, which is something the Shaolin do. His inner strength makes his external martial arts invincible.

Hmm. About Jax. Though you are correct about Jax being gifted, I have to disagree with the fact of him being the "ultimate warrior." Sure, he has speed and momentum, but nothing like a real warrior like a monk. Monks have lightning quick skills. Jax's don't even compare. The problem is, Jax is gifted with speed and momentum, but he doesn't really know how to use it wisely and correctly, which is one of his flaws.
