Shinnok is one of the main villians in MK4/G and MKM:SZ, he's also going to reappear in MKA.

The whole thing about Shinnok being Raiden and Shao Kahn's dad was made for the MK:Annihilation movie, it isn't legit with the games, and was pretty stupid.

Shinnok being Kahn and Raiden's father ruined the whole movie.

I don't think that they were labling him as the actual Sperm Doner of Raiden and Shao Kahn themselves. Since Shinnok was once an Elder God, it was natural to call him "Father." But they do the same thing to the other Elder Gods, as with the appearance of the God Of Fire and Goddess Of Water. Kinda like "Mother Earth" and "Father Time". And, since they returned Raiden's Life back to him at the end of the movie, it's also plain to see why they are always called "Mother," and "Father." They can give life, as well as take it away... at their leisure, because... why else? They're GODS.

But that's not what he meant.

"My father is an elder god."

"Your dad's an elder god?"

And...

"It's a family crest."

"Then why does Kahn have it?"

"Shao Kahn is my brother."

And they never, ever call the other Elder Gods by ''father'' or ''mother''.
