I remember it being something about the network and things like that, but I can't remember the exact reason. Does anyone know?

From what I understand the bottom line was that the bottom line. Even though it got good ratings no one wanted to pay for making more episodes. TNT offered it to Sci-Fi but the rumor said they claimed it wasn't Science Fiction...*shrugs* Because TNT no longer want to spend money on a second season and Sci-Fi refused to take over it sorta died mid-story. From what I understand the second season was already planned out by the writers and everything. I wished they would at least publish the story or something. Although the idea of a tied downed Jeff Meeks as Rayden does have some appeal....*sigh* damn I need to get to get out more.

from mkrevolution.net:
After Kahn's treason, Rayden would confide the Elder Gods of what Shao Kahn has done. As a result of this, the Elder Gods would undo what Kahn has done; This basically means that they would undo the deaths of the characters Kahn's priests have slaughtered, which is almost every main character featured in the show.
I think this is posted at the official site as well, so they definitely had something planned.

If that rumor is true, then that is a cop-out on Sci-Fi's part. Even during that time, they produced and aired a lot of movies and mini-series that wouldn't be considered Science Fiction. They even have showed horror movies and still do. But are they considered Science Fiction? Not all. Last week, they showed two Hellraiser movies back to back. I don't think Science Fiction when I think of Hellraiser movies. *rolls eyes*
It seems to me that they didn't want to take on the production costs either, though I bet they knew that they'd get great ratings with the show.

That's bull! I can't believe they cancelled it, it was such a good show, and it only got better as the show went on. The las episode depresses me every time, no matter how much I watch it. I always watch Raiden approach Shao Kahn and every time I still have that bit of hope that he'd extend his hand and a lightning bolt would come out and defeat Shao Kahn.
