Today on FX, they were playing MKA, and I was like, why do they play this movie than the first one? First one is WAY better than the second one, would it make sense to play the movie that was acutally decent to watch than the horrible sucky one? Just a thought.

I love that one because how crappy it is, I laugh through the whole thing. How could somebody not love it with it's amazing script with lines like "You.... Cannot..... DIE." -Liu Kang

Though I do wish MK1 would be on more...

What's even worse is that both movies get so much credit, when MK Conquest is much superior to both movies together, and it gets ignored by everybody.

Yea it sucks they don't play old school re-runs of Conquest on any channel.

Usually when MK1 comes on tv is mostly on tbs or tnt.I was shocked to seen it on fx even though I didn't watch it cause I have it on dvd.And MKC was a great show and for w.e reason scifi didn't pick it up like they usually do pick up shows that only last 1 season,i.e Firefly.

Sci Fi was going to pick it up in 2001, but the creator of threshould, Lawerence Sackoff or however you say his name stated and I'm not joking "I don't consider Mortal Kombat Sci-Fi". Yes...an idiot indeed.

Oh yeah, four armed creatures, people that transform into others, multiple realms, and people who are capable of manipulating elements, it is in no way science fiction(obvious sarcasm)

Actually MK is far more supernatural than it is science fiction. THERE IS reason to what Larry did, but it was still retarded because Sci Fi or not, MKC would go on instead of dying.

It's more recent. I'm glad MKC is gone... my standards are higher than what they provided.

The definition of Science Fiction, I believe, it something along the lines of having things that we do not have in the real world, but that actually seem plausible.

Anything, (like fireballs) are hardly plausible, so I think that fits more into the Fantasy genre.

Also, why is Terminator 3 more on TV than Terminator 2, when Terminator 2 was obviously a better movie? Probably cause it's cheaper.

"How could somebody not love it with it's amazing script with lines like "You.... Cannot..... DIE." -Liu Kang"

And how it leads to lines like, "I am proud to die.....a mortal.....like you" Apparently Raiden's head hit the ground pretty hard.

If there was anything more fun than watching Raiden die, it was watching Liu Kang freak out about it. grin

And the squeaky lightning

And the folding re-banishment of Shinnok

Sonya does look good in mud though. wink

Prehaps they were trying to say to the audience "He got a bad concussion and either we could afford fake CSF or we could but we didn't want the pervs and immature viewers of the audience yelling, "look Raiden's getting and orgasm through his ear!!!"

Or that attack blew his heart up and likes one of those old Kung Fu flicks where they rip out a person's heart and shows it to before they die...

And to the true purpose of this, shitty films somehow make more money. They get a lot of viewers. I don't know why...nor do I want to....

LOL. I AGREE! Ha, Mortal Kombat comes on so rarely, but Annihilation comes on so much more! I love both movies, so it doesn't really bother me. smile

MK: Conquest was awful for those who actually preferred a decent storyline over incessant scantily-clad babes and endless fight scenes. It won't be on TV again.

Why does Annihilation get more airtime than the original? Interesting question.

Because MKA is awesome. It's one of the classic bad movies. Right up there with Plan 9 from Outer Space or Gamera. It leans into the stupid and comes out the other side as comedy.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that the movie is crazy quotable.

Maybe Kasanoff just pays really well for stations to air MKA.
