If they were, indeed, to skip and ignore the facts of the actual sequel (attempt at a sequel tongue), why not simply call the film Mortal Kombat 2 (or II, I suppose)? It would only help to cast aside Annihilation completely.

Your thoughts?

I'm against the skipping. Sure, it was one of the worst films in history, but ignoring it completely is rather ignorant... It would be a much wiser decision to progress from the events of Annihilation, yet restrict themselves in terms of mentioning it... Sort of a half-skip. Again, ignoring it completely would be the easy and weak way around it.

We should skip it cause...it was so bad...not just the bad acting and the bad storyline, but also because it went so far away from the game. That is normally not a damning thing, but in this case it was murder because they kept pulling things from the game to base it off of. You know what I mean, the characters came out of nowhere and animalities. The movies should be made so that everything is explained, and it is plausible given the previous information. Cyborgs from nowhere should not appear and attack the cast, Scorpion shouldn't appear for no reason and disappear with only a five second fight, and Liu Kang should not turn into a dragon just because Nightwolf told him to and hit him in the head. Most of all actors should not be picked just because they know how to fight. They got keanu to do martial arts just fine in what would be about the same kind of virtual kombat...uh combat. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not looking for a martial arts masterpiece. I just want fluid storyline, good actors, and movie special effects as opposed to tv ones. btw, we could get jackie chan to be kung lao...it's not any more violent than some other movies he has done, and if we can get christopher lambert again, he wouldn't be the only big name.

I am also against skipping MK:Annihilaition, it would confuse a lot of people. I wouldn't mind if they ignored parts of MK:A, like Raiden and Shao Kahn being brothers. WTF??? What a load of sheep shit. I'm sure MK:Devastation is gonna be much, much better than Annihilation.

I think that they should start the franchise all over again, like they did with the batman movies (look how good batman begins turned out) and they should bring back the same actors...then the sequal to that should be the MKII storyline with shao kahn WITHOUT TAKING HIS HELMET OFF, kintaro, kung lao, and the youthful shang tsung. also, why not a scene with human smoke or noob saibot grin...AND MORE BARAKA SCENES! hes suck a cool character and they made his head too big in MK:Atongue.
