i believe a restart would be best. make the movie somewhat an epic chinese mythology movie. start mk movie out before the first tournament. give backgroumd info on what and why this is happening, sort of like lord of the rings. show the rise and defeat of the original kung lao. this part would be around 30 min. then we get to present world mk, like the mk comic. mk has to me an award winning story, just as good as lord of rings. have movie about 3 hrs and R RATED.

long movies usually become classics. But no, I belive KL's mentioning in MK: Movie and presence as main characters in MKCq was enough. Not to mention they've got to catch up with story.

(that and the script is done)

Dude this is the exact idea that I had. AN epic MK would be fricken awesome, but I also agree that threshhold must keep up with the games first.
In my opinion in like 6 years from now some production company should go back to the mk games take it and make a 6 or maybe 12 episode masterpiece on the entire mk story. From the dragon king to shinnok all the way to the events of the deadly alliance, and all the events on the upcoming mk games. >:0

I would like to see an epic but spanned into a trilogy, and it should be like chinese mythology. Scorpion is chinese - why does he have an english accent? Plothole! I'd give him some deep Yakuza like voice and when he screams GET OVER HERE it'll be sub-titled. Sub Zero I would give him an American-chinese accent more like Robin Shou's and show Tsung has the old wizard then have Cary play him when he is younger. I'd begin with the beginnings of the tournament, show how it came about - something to do with the Dragon King and include Kintaro somewhere in the sequel.

get real, thats never gonna happen, do you really think they are gonna re-do a whol trilogy?? they don't have the money for that.

I think it would be real to say that mk3 is the last movie made of mk

A very impresive start with Raydens voice saying what he says in the MKDA intro movie. They show (while he talks) Quan Chi escaping hell thanxs to the amulet. Scorpion and the 2 onis following him very close, BUT when they travel throw thug portal, they end up somewhere else.

They add more words to Rayden to tell more about the Dragon King and his army when Quan Chi discovers it. Rayden tell us he alone couldent use the army, thats when he discovers an ancient power the amulet hids, being able to resurrect only ONCE. They show how QUan Chi managed to use black magic and resurrect Shang Tusng.

Raydens voice tells us how Tsung could control souls and thats how they (the alliance) plans to restore the army to live. THEN, he tells us how they travaled to earth and killed Liu Kang (they show a quick but imopresive battle). THEN images of the alliance reviving the army, with souls and all that.

At the end, Rayden finishes with "We must stop this deadly alliance".

Then somehow they manage to start the movie with an introduccion to the main heroes. Kung lao (specially, most about him), Sonya, Jax and Kitana, just like the first movie.

In Jax and Sonyas, they can show how theri SF base explotes and is in destruccion and all that. The secondary main heroes like Blind Kenshi and the rest could have a little introduccion when they first appear.
