I can't believe you didn't keep Cage as Ashby - he was VERY good at that character and even made me enjoy JC.

Changes I would have made
Second Sonya for the first movie also...
Lambert for both..
someone different for Jade, Nightwolf, Khan (mabey it was just a pathetic script), .. mabey the second SubZero....just didn't feel like him. If its the same SUBZERO i think I would change his look.

from the first movie everyone i think that they did a wonderful job. exept for jax in the first one he did not match my needs and too light (please dont think of me as a racist) the second movie i really liked sonya and jax the best buddy combo in the movie

While I like Robin Shou as Liu Kang I do have to agree that Philip Rhee would have been a good choice. Everytime I see him at the end of Best of the Best 2 I always think Liu Kang.

Micheal Dudikoff as Scorpion, are you insane??? The guy can't fight his way out of a cardboard box!! And Steve James as Jax?? You have been watching to many American Ninja movies, man

My pick would be:
*Rayden - Jeff Meek
*Shang Tsung - Bruce Locke
*Sonya - Jenna Jameson wink
*Scorpion - Chris Cassamassa
*Sub-Zero - David Cooke
*Reptile - David Cooke
*Kitana - Chasey Lain wink
*Liu Kang - Paolo Montalban
*Johnny Cage - Linden Ashby
*Kano - Trevor Goddard

I don't even want to mention MKA, it's not worth my time

Van Damme as Cage? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, Van Damme is a LEAD character. He wouldn't be in a movie where he wasn't the absolute lead and star, which is to say, Liu Kang.
Not to mention Van Damme is defenetely not a comedic actor AT ALL.

Dana Hee as Jade? Jade was black in the games (or heavily tanned), and asian in the movies. You want to turn her into a pale red head? Even though the hair could be changed, the facial features and skin colour of Hee are just straight up wrong for Jade.

Fransio Petite? Ii think you mean François Petit, not sure though.

And why bring back Trevor Goddard as Baraka?? Trevor was already Kano in the first movie, and Baraka hardly had any lines, and we all know Trevor's a fantastic actor.

Your list looks really random, IMO...

ALL the actors for MK1 were perfect, that's why the movie ended up being pretty good. But the 2nd movie had terrible casting. Why didn't the guy from the end of part 1 play shao kahn? and Sheeva should've looked more like goro did in part 1. She looked nothing like Goro and they belong to the same race. I can't belive they had a black lady with a mullet play Sheeva, when the actual Sheeva, was white and had a ponytail!!!!!!!!!

LOL!! SHeeva loves her mullet and Puff!!!! She is not black though... she is like Paraguayan, HOWEVER, jade is black and they used an asian actress.... that was dumb...

Anyway, I LOVED the casting for MK1, in MKA all the old charactrs should stay the same, and Kelly Hu would have been an awsome mileena, and Vivica A. Fox a GREAT jade

I'll admit I love any martial arts movie, and I have seen all American Ninja films. However, this is a fact. Steve James was originally signed to do both MK1, and MKA as JAX until his unfortuneate death occurred. Jade in the games was very tan. She was never black. So Dana Hee could definitely pull it off after tanning. wink

VAN DAMME AS CAGE?! are you insane?? wow Ashby was the right choice for that part and made me enjoy him, because before that movie I could have cared less about Cage.

Have you SEEN Streen Fighter? Ew, just no. lmao

Cynthia looks nothing like Sonya to me, plus she's too old. I do admit she can kick some ass [but I dislike her acting]. I think they needed to stick with Bridgette, but with that MK:A script I would have rejected returning, too.

I think the casting for the first MK was perfect [Lambert as Raiden is the only choice as far as I am concerned], the actors all worked well together and it had some great lines. MK:A does not exist to me. If they made another one, they need to try to get the original cast back.

That's really sad about the original actor for Jax. ;-;

Big-name actors don't necessarily mean they're good actors. Case in point: Van Damme.
