If you watched the Kombat Kast did you catch where the number of slots for stages/arenas has grown from 17 to 21? I am VERY happy to have seen that because the small amount of stages in MKX was one of my big gripes with that game.

Honestly I'd take that over an additional character.

Hope they have the MKDA vibe, the arenas in that game had stories of their own and some were deeper than the characters.

I'd rather seen the character screen have grown into 33...

I hope this is an indicator of a much bigger, robust and diverse in local for story mode. MKX having such few stages was my main gripe with the game. Looks like they are directly addressing that for this game.

I really love the two new levels, especially that Tarkatan camp, the one Skarlet talks about in one of her intro's with Baraka.

Yes, I believe this bodes very well for a much grander story mode. They tend to make use of every location they've got.

Here's to hoping this would mean that characters can have their own designated stages to always be fought in.

I am very glad to see this! I think one shortcoming with MKX is it's somewhat limited number of stages, especially compared to Mortal Konbat 2011's. It goes to show how things we see in earlier builds might not be true.

Part of me is hoping that there will be a couple of extra character slots in the final build as well but I won't get my expectations up too much.

For the stages, I hope to see a nice variety. I would really like to see an Outworld stage with the purple skies along the lines of what MK2 had. I also really want to see The Portal, as it was one stage I felt was sorely missed in MK 2011. Other than that, keep the new ideas coming! I hope for stages that span across multiple realms and show new tidbits of MK lore.

I just paused the video that I thought was the portal from Mk2 but I see shinnoks head floating in the stage lol.....Guess Shinnok isnt in the game playable lol. It reminded me of a portal stage. I was hoping for at least one hidden character to be in this game when certain conditions were met like Smoke jade noob reptile and khameleon were.

Is it going to matter that much if they all look alike? From all the screens so far most are either grey or brown and just blend together like the Earth Realm levels in MK9.
