The community at large is bitching about her and dogging out the character. Not only is that most people here but also on YouTube and Twitter. I know not everyone is gonna have the same opinions but it's really damn annoying when you think a new character is cool and such an overwhelming majority are rejecting her, especially when they are almost all repeating the same predictable "Poison Ivy!"/"Injustice" comments.

I see it, but I also see it with Geras and I also see it with the rest of the game and I don't think that's a bad thing, really. NRS was able to grow and do a ton of things with Injustice and I love that they're elevating Mortal Kombat with some of those elements.

But of course, every one is entitled to their opinion and I respect that.

I am convinced she was either an alternative costume for Poison Ivy or something else Injustice-related. And because they didn’t want to throw her away, they decided to recycle her into MK11. NRS has a habit of doing that. Recall Shang Tsung’s ridiculous clown fatality. Recycled from MKvDC.

If Injustice never existed, I don't think so many people would think of the new characters as being unfit for Mortal Kombat. How many fan characters have been made around these kinds of concepts before?

I sure hope the people who have a problem with Cetrion are not also complaining that the Elder Gods never do anything useful, haha.

So it's solidly confirmed that Jade and Kotal are smashing now. I'm on board with that.

That's probably the only thing that has truly peeked my interest in regards to the story with the exception of the Frost/Kronika stuff.

Jade serving Kotal...possibly being something more...I am very curious to know what Kotal's role in the bigger story is now.

Trolling aside, I think she looks cool, and as someone who played Tremor in MKX I welcome her move set (I have my own feelings about rehashing moves on new characters but I'll keep that out of here). Not too sure how I feel about the spin on the Jaxzilla fatality from MK3, but I'm excited to try her out when the game releases.

Probably the one negative I can point to is that her aesthetic and moves don't line up all that closely. She screams druid, but not in the traditional sense. She's more like a circle of the land druid from 5th Edition D&D. At least they tied in the plant part of it fairly well.

Damn i was waiting for some new MK footage and than this Injustice tye of character gets revealed... I dont feel this chracter at all. She screams DC everywhere.. Worst is she's problably going to be god tier... I used to like MK for different reasons than NRS is taking it now.

I never played the Injustice games. So for me the feelings are not coming from that. I also didn't go past any comments. I saw the trailer and commented immediatly at what I saw. (Now watched the trailer again, still not feeling it. I just need to see more)

It's kind of odd seeing comments saying they respect other opinions, yet a part of them go on to complain that the people who don't agree with them, are always being negative about the game. It's not always the same people that are complaining and it's not respecting others opinion when you are belittling their opinion.
I've been fairly positive about the game, some remarks here an there, but overall positive about the game. So I don't like be generalized as being negative when I have had more positive things to say than negative.

I guess that's aimed toward me. I do respect other's opinion, I haven't attacked anyone, just questioned if anything.

I am mostly negative about a lot of things regarding these newer games- that's why I'm disappointed that one thing that rocks my socks is getting bashed. It's upsetting and I was just voicing that.

But her moves are IDENTICAL to the characters I mentioned,

I mean she has the same, exact water bubble of Rain, the crushing rocks of Tremor and the tornado from Fujin's moveset.

And you act as if Rain or Fujin can't be given new moves.

Frost and Sub-Zero are in the game and their move sets are far more similar than that of Cetrion stealing one or two moves from Rain or Fujin.

Tremor is a more viable argument considering not only does Cetrion have a lot of his material, but so does Geras.

That mentality is what i dislike alot within the MK community. At this point pp act super likeable just to be avoided as complainers. Really sad. imo that is worse than ppl that voice their honest opinion. Im not very postive in general about MKx and MK11 bc NRS nowdays rather likes this type of shit than what MK used to be. I read someone compared her to Fujin?! lol, he was an eastern inspired warrior. Cetrion is... nothing like that.

She points out how good Raiden's design was. He fitted visually and story wise very wel witin the MK universe. His appearance made him look like a respectable fighter and god.

The only thing I don't like about her is the fatality shown. Everything else I love.

I think it's dope that she controls all the elements instead of just one. It keeps her from being a literal one-trick pony. It opens the door for all kinds of ideas for moves in future installments, should she return. Also, it's dope to have another Elder God as a playable character. I've always hated how they just sat back and let shit happen, even though they have the power to solve things. Cetrion is a prime example of an Elder God solving shit. I love her already!

It feels like such an evolution of the franchise. This is the type of new character I LOVE. Cetrion is a game changer of a character and not just another Kombat Kid. Which is Oh so refreshing.

Why are you at an MK forum in the first place? If you rather want MK to turn in Injustice go be happy at injustice forums.. You cant be a mortal kombat fan while you rather see injustice archatypes. I dont understand.

No, it wasn't aimed towards you, although I knew I could give the feeling to some that I was targetting them when I wasn't (that's a bit of a problem when talking in a "group"). I read that comment of yours and I can respect that opinion. But I've seen others "respecting others opinion" yet start belittling or bashing them. Mine wasn't actually a comment only regarding this thread, but other threads aswell.
And I also know how it can bring euforia a bit down, when a lot of people voice an opinion that is different, while being initially enthousiastic. I've had that here several times aswell.

First of all, I don't play the Injustice games.

Second, she is a selectable character. if you don't like her- don't play her.

Lastly, Injustice has ELEVATED Neatherealm as a studio and there is nothing wrong with them taking what they've learned from that series and using it to elevate Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat has never been one thing. This is a franchise full of Cyborgs, soldiers, four-armed men and women, dragon creatures, reptilians, Gods, demons, Vampires, spirits ect. Cetrion fits in just fine.

I've been on this forum for 15 years and I'm not going anywhere.

The same one that leaked with Mileena and Shinnok. He actually said that Shinnok was part of the main roster while Shang Tsung and Mileena were unlockable characters. He also said that Kollector was a cyborg, which looks wrong in my opinion.

This design is atrocious. I sure hope she has vastly improved alteranate outfits/skins.
