I hope they never announce a MK game 8 months beforehand ever again. The wait for MK11 was so much shorter and thus we got a lot of juicy information, ESPECIALLY coming at us over the last month before launch- it's truly been a blast.

MKX there was like 3 months of nothing at a time. By the time the game came out my excitement was at a minimal.

Indeed. It was a great move to wait until so close to release before announcing it. But even feels like just yesterday that we were all speculating the announcement had to be coming at the VGA's since it didn't come at E3 like originally expected.

As for Ash...i dont really care for Evil Dead series. Spawn is good. and Joker...ugh. How many times do i have to talk about this? I think people and mk devs hype over DC crossovers too much and im gonna say it *breathes in*

I think Joker is the most overrated supervillain ever. Too overhyped. Especially since Dark Knight. I mean...does Joker have to be in everything? Lots of great antiheroes and villains out there that could use the respect of crossovers as well...

I just hoped really hard there wont be any guest characters this time... :S waste of slots...

I have to admit I was disappointed with the initial roster. And I am going to be honest, I'm disappointed with the DLC lists as well. As for the roster, I like Cage, and Sonya, and Kano, and Jax, but we've had them in 90% of all MK games.. NRS relied on them heavily in MK11 and here they go and include them all again in MK12... There are so many characters I felt deserved some lime light. Reiko, Havik, Fujin, Smoke, Rain, Sareena, Kai... Hell, with the timeline aspect they even had the chance to bring back Motaro (and yes they have the technology to pull it off) It would have surprised and blown peoples minds. But it felt like NRS has been playing it really safe again... My hope was that DLC would fix my disappointment.

If the leaks are true (they are) than the DLC isn't going to do much fixing... That seems like an excessive amount of guest characters. Yes they are all ones that people have requested... but did they ALL have to be included here? There are so many characters, MK characters, that people have been requesting for a long time. That being said, I'm thrilled Fujin is being included in the game, although I doubt he will be included in story mode (even though he's a god who Raided at one point was going to appoint Earth's protector so it doesn't make sense for him to be MIA in so many MK games. That's the extent of what I like out of the DLC. I will also play as Shang Tsung but he's hit or miss for me. I know a LOT of people have been wanting Sindel, and I'm very happy for you that you are going to get her!

Ill play the game.. and probably like the game... but I'm going to be crossing my fingers for Smoke and Reiko for MK12

I do know this is a pipe dream; A Bi-Han vs Noob Saibot match and neither of them liking each other. And both of them insulting each other relentlessly and no mercy and actively trying to kill having Sareena making a return. Hsu Hao returning and becoming the MK butt monkey. Scorpion kills him, Erron Black kills him again.

Those 8 months might have afforded you better warning for how grind and loot box oriented this game was going to be and revealed how a good portion of this game was locked behind an internet connection.

Not even a problem for me tbh. This game, Towers of Time aside, is flawless in my eyes. Amazing entry.

Flawless? Did you not state how angered you were by the story mode and approach NRS took with it in another thread?

Let's say this is legit, even remotely legit, the DLC is by far average. I'd get rid of Joker and Terminator all together and replace them with at least Cyrax and Sektor. Spawn I could also care less about, give me a much better deserving MK fighter here too or a slightly better guest character.

I'm not saying Ash is the Ash from Evil Dead could it be Ashrah from Deception? Highly doubtful but here if it is Ash from Evil Dead I'd rather have another Mortal Kombat fighter.

Mileena and Reptile perhaps? Even though Mileena died in MKX story her ending suggests there are more of her and I believe Reptile is still alive.

I was speaking of the gameplay side of things. If we were to talk narrative then yeah this game is a mess. But actual functionality? Best this series has ever been imo.

Saw this on Twitter earlier and also saw it floating around on Reddit. Apparently these are in the game files. If you'll notice, these files track character experience so it's highly unlikely the DLC slots are for cosmetics. Take it as you will.

It definitely seems like a mistake or something lol. Not that Id be complaining about that many. Just more MK characters in an already awesome engine.

Aside from the guests, I don't think people would complain TOO much about a final roster of 44

Hm... I just can't imagine NRS is implementing 19 DLCs... well, i will not bet on it, to be honest. Sure, it would be great to see a big roster with our favorites but I think this is a mistake.
