I know that the angry void of despair known as Twitter is NOT representative of all MK fans by any stretch, but I do see a lot of conversations about what people would like to see added, changed or fixed in MK11 post-Final Kombat.

So what do you think? Feel free to be as specific with nerfs, buffs, added moves, changed moves, hitboxes, combo variety, damage for specific characters or general gameplay changes as you want.

Or if you think the game is perfect as is, that’s obviously fine too. I’m just curious what people around here think.

1. The ability to turn off fatal blows for single player matches.

2. A difficulty setting for modifiers in Towers of Time. (e.g. Off - Easy - Normal - Hard)

3. All Towers of Time available at all times. No timers. No expiration. No FOMO.

1. Stop releasing non-MK DLC characters and instead start releasing MK universe characters only. I'd continue making new ones in Kombat Packs and individual releases until MK12 is announced. There's a lot of characters the fans want to see, and we didn't need Joker/Terminator or Spawn. Enough is enough with the guest characters already.

2. MK9 style Tag Team mode for Local play as well as online.

Sensible colour traits, for example a red Kitana is unacceptable. I'd replace the stupid colours for even more customization options instead that are true to the fighters characterization (it's a bit too late for this now though).

Honestly the game plays like a dream so I won't touch it gameplay wise and would just fix the trivial things you guys are mentioning.

Enough DLC characters....ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Kenshi is good....mileena is good...Rain, Reptile a d Ermac are good. No telekinesis character in MK11 ? WTF ? Start releasing past game costumes... MKSM ? MKDA ?

Having said that, I swear, the gameplay puts tears to my eyes.... It's so perfect... Probably my best fighting game ever. Tons of people play it like MK2 and the resemblance is uncanny

For a game like this there needs to be more options to players.

1. Make an option to purchase something similar to a season pass that allows users to unlock everything within the customization area. All skins, gear, Brutalities, taunts, etc. The reason is because now after grinding and grind and getting relatively nowhere I am starting to get bored and tired of fighting over and over trying to unlocks items some which have never become unlocked or might never due to the random way things progress in the game.

2. Eliminate all non-MK DLC characters. They serve no purpose to the MK story or lore. They are there to simply cash in on a franchise and that's pretty much it. I feel the game is missing some key fighters like Mileena and Reptile to name the easiest to name. For me if you have Kitana and Jade you need Mileena same goes to Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Reptile.

3. Add in a few classic stages from MK1 and MKII. I feel as since this is a combination of the 1st 2 games we need a few more stages and at least one or two Pits. What is an MK with Pits. Learning from MKV it wasn't good. I believe the Warrior Shrine with a crumbled look to it would fit here and perhaps The Pit II from MKII. People want The Pit but I feel it has been done to death now. I'd also like to see the Kombat Tomb in a game like this.

4. With this game having the Mercy! back in I'd actually take time and come up with a way to bring back Animalities into the game. We kid of see Liu Kang and Shang Tsung and even Kotal Kahn turn into animals so perhaps this is the game for this. Even D'Vorah kind of turns into a bug.

5. Lastly call me silly but we've seen the Babalities come back in MK9 and I'd like to see Friendships make a comeback here. This would be pretty funny with some of the fighters we do have. Even though I'm anti non-MK DLC, The Joker's Pie In the Face could be his Friendship. He's also got that Jack-in-the-box too.

With the unlimited-less grinding in this game I've gotten to the point of where I start it up, go into ToT and then say to myself...why? It is the same thing over and over again and 1/2 the time I get nowhere after defeating multiple towers. The Krypt is still unfinished too due to the game being able to randomly give you what it wants too. This game had pretty decent potential but it is starting to loose steam with me.

If I could "Love" this rather than "Like" it, I would. MK11 is easily the best fighting game ever made, even with it's few limitations and grievances. I really like MKX and MK9 too and they do have certain elements that are better and/or different but overall MK11 is the first one I'd give a 10 rating to overall, even though previous ones came close. I like your idea of releasing costumes from the previous titles. Have at least 1 costume for each character from every game MK1 through MKX and sell them as DLC packs(Or give them to us free? lol I'm realistic that isn't going to happen). I feel the same way with the characters. What if they started dropping DLC packs quicker where they could release every character thats missing from the MK Armageddon roster and MKX, that's essentially all of them? They could focus it on generations with the costume releases. Not only would this be profitable for NRS as fans would buy it, it would also show them statistically what will sell in the future releases based on how many units sell for each game era themed DLC. For example, I personally do not want to see the main focus of MK12 be the MK5-7 era storylines, but perhaps(though highly doubtful) those would sell best and that could give them an idea on what to do with MK12.

None

I agree with all 5 of your points.

1. I would love a Komplete Edition DLC option available at this point too. Especially one where it includes all packs that are released after the initial purchase. None of this Female Ninjas and Halloween Pack costing extra BS.

2. YES! YES! YES! Out with all of the guest character stuff. Although I personally have no interest in them whatsoever, the only exception I'd make would be if they first give us all MK characters that exist first(including ones less popular like Mokap, Hsu Hao and Meat, still better than guests!)

3. MK 1 and 2 levels included is always a good thing. I wouldn't mind seeing a DLC pack for MK 1,2,3 levels and then maybe one to a lesser extent for MK DA, DEC and ARM.

4. Animalities were the coolest actual kombat thing they should have never removed to begin with.

5. Yep! Friendships and Babalities would be cool too.

I'd like to add a 3rd thing I'd love to see come to MK11:

3. Story Mode DLC for MK DLC characters(PLEASE NO guest characters in the story!!). I understand it may be difficult to write them in after the story but NRS is creative and can come up with a way to do so, even if it's only a small chapter where the characters have 4-5 fights. I'm not suggesting to re-write the timelines or add characters in(like having Sindel or Nightwolf show up in Kotal's Stadium during Kotal Kahns Time-Quake chapter, that would suck almost as much as the Sindel retcon does)but imagine self contained story quests that take place during the MK11 timeline that have 20-30 minutes of storyline video with 4-5 fights for Sindel, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung and any other MK character they add to DLC later.

1. Get rid of the blasted Konsumables. Those things SUCK. The modifier system from X was much better.

2. Less Krypt grinding to get skins, etc.

3. Stage Fatalities, not just Brutalities, please.

4. Each character should have a quick fatality, so we can end matches quicker (think MKX's Klassic Fatalities).

5. WHY DO WE HAVE KUSTOMIZABLE END OF MATCH CELEBRATIONS IF WE'RE GOING TO PUNISH PEOPLE'S SCORES IF THEY DON'T KILL THEIR OPPONENT? Stupidest thing, ever. X did this crap, too, and it sucks. We shouldn't HAVE to kill our opponents every time to get the highest scores on towers.

i have no problem with guest characters but I do think a Kombat Pack 2 and future Kombat Packs should be fairly large if not equal to Kombat Pack 1 with even more Fan favorite MK Chracters

For example, having Bi han as Sub Zero for pure novelty factor vs Bi han as Noob Saibot. Or having Stryker and Kabal team up. Or Return of Sareena, Ermac and Ashrah. or Having Kenshi and Takeda vs the Red Dragon. Or having Kobra meeting Erron Black.

1) Totally agree with everyone above with no more guest characters. MK's lore is so good it doesn't need shoe-horned in silly characters from other franchises.

2) Stage fatalities. Feels like a quintessential part of MK since the very beginning is quite literally missing, just like in Deadly Alliance.

3) When playing offline local two player, let the second player be able to choose the variants created by the profile-owner, instead of having to use the defaults or whatever they've unlocked on another console profile.

4) Stop locking gear behind timed Golden Krypt events!!!!!!!!! Especially classic gear!

5) Have the character select-screen immediately load your primary customised variant character model like on the Kustomization screen, instead of loading the default one first then changing to your personally adapted version after a few seconds. If the character select screen avatars also updated to the skin and gear of your primary version that'd be even better. Want to see my human Liu, Kitana, Kung Lao, Jade, Sindel and Kabal there in the avatars instead of the silly revenants.

6) Have the revenants actually have revenant voices and dialogue, this was present in the last game so why now do they talk exactly the same whether they're mind-controlled evil zombie or heroic human? Some of the dialogue especially makes no sense when in revenant form since it's all from their human perspectives.

7) Give Frost a robotic skeleton. Terminator has one, even just a repaint of that in white or something would do in order to make her character's biology a little more consistent with fatalities.

As many will know, they'll try to do something new or drastically different with every game (whereas Tekken and Street Fighter tend to stay the same).

1.Bring back 4 player fighting game modes of 2v2/Tag Team.

2.Make it into a 3D fighting game.

3.Bring back Hara-Kiris, Animalities, Babalities, and Deathtraps (Stage Fatalitie).

4.Bring back the old Mortal Kombat Minigames (Motor Kombat, Chess Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, etc.)

5.Make more combos.

So true, which is what makes MK so great as a franchise. Tekken 7 and Tag 2 are easily the worst in the series yet, and it hasn't really changed much over the years. The last Street Fighter game that was halfway decent was Street Fighter 2 for SNES lol. Killer Instinct had potential but the 2013 one wasn't very good. Too bad Tekken doesn't evolve much over the years cause its got a decent base, nothing can touch MK though.

I love this idea! I didn't consider it. There's no way I'd want to see them remove the existing(and better IMO)side scrolling 2D era style, but to give us a feature while selecting our arena to play it in 2D era mode or 3D era mode would be awesome!

I'd fire every person responsible for writing. Amateur, "woke", retcon, nonsensical, unimaginative writing. MK6 was the last time we got a game with a totally fresh plot. Since then, it's been rehash and retcon.

Speed up the damn game !

Add Stage Fatalities and since we've had the Pit twice now please give is the Pit 2 or better yet 3 !

More combos per character ( soul calibur 6 just did this with a recent update )

Enough with the guest characters already !

Well... I am not sure if I would like to have Babalities, Animalities or Harakiries... Becuase this could be too much. Sometimes it is better to focus on some points then many. But I would love to see the old brutalities like an Ultra combo from Killer Instinct with an death blow at the end back in MK (and keep the new brutalities pls :D). Or maybe give us the option for brutalities in Fatal Blows.

Oh... I would love to have more varity in combos: more starters, more linkers, more enders just way more option! Also I don't know why I can't unlock every Brutality for every character.. meh... that sucks.

One thought about the criticism with too much guests. If I had the option picking a MK character or a guest... I would pick an MK character every time. But if you think some steps further... you may recognize how important guests are for the success of the game. Not only guest character were buyed more than MK characters (sad but true), it also brings people to MK which amybe never played a game from this franchise before, just because tehy wanted to play as an Alien or whatever they are fan of. So... guests are the opportunity to let MK grow. So... it is sometimes a bitter tasting compromise but for the sake of MK itself and the people which are working there... I can live with guest! Even if I think 2 of 6 would be fine in a kombat pack.

For me... MK11 is the best MK I have ever played. It is stunning on my TV and it is the only game I played every day since it was released! And that should say everything about this masterpiece.

People who hate the mechanics of this game should either play previous games or wait for the next game ( will play different as MK always changes)

For me, MK11 is the best MK gameplay wise. It's a modern incarnation if MK2.

Best MK game yet.

Killer Instinct had potential but the 2013 one wasn't very good.

Not to go off-topic but I’m curious what you disliked about KI 2013. I thought the character designs were incredibly deep and unique, the customization options were nice and rather easily obtained, the backgrounds were awesome, Mick Gordon’s dynamic music was fantastic, and it had some incredibly unique and compelling game modes. The gameplay was extremely easy to pick up thanks to the on-boarding tutorial and simplified control mode, but exceedingly deep and strategic.

I mean it’s obviously fine to disagree, but I played that game since day one and watched it grow from relatively meager and even kind of overly simplistic mechanics in to one of my personal top five best fighting games of all time over the course of four years.

That said...

People who hate the mechanics of this game should either play previous games or wait for the next game ( will play different as MK always changes)

I would absolutely agree with this statement about MK11. I think some in this thread see the original question not as “what would you improve about MK11” as “what would you change about MK11” and while they might sound like similar questions, they’re not when people start suggesting retroactive changes to completed content that they’re simply not going to change.

But there is stuff that can be tweaked in terms gameplay, not to drastically alter the meta, but to perfect the intentions behind it so both characters, moves and variations function the best they can. I mean, who’s your main? Do you love all three of their variations? Anything you’d change about them? Any moves that need to be buffed, nerfed or reworked a little?

What about additional content that they can add to the game? What would you like to see NRS do to improve your experience with the game? I saw stages, more non-fighting modes, more match ending types, making the grind for skins less punitive... Agree on all fronts! Love these ideas.

Anything else you’d suggest? Any wonky hitboxes or strange armor scenarios or pokes or frame nerfs / buffs you’d want to see? Any characters or variations you’d want helped or toned down?

Again, just curious. I did see someone mention more combos. I think I might’ve also seen more starters, linkers and enders and I must say that I agree.

I love having zoners and grapplers and resource management and buff/debuff archetypes, but I do think that each character should have a variation that’s more combo-heavy and rushdown oriented and some characters simply don’t have this kind of combo variety or compelling juggles, or they have to many giant gaps in their strings and I’d like to see NRS Work to kind of rebalance this aspect so we can have versions of characters that play how any of us would want.

I mean, why have customizable variations if you can’t have the kind of character you want them to at least come close to being?

As far as the all around mechanics of the system are concerned, and the pacing of matches and what not, I have to say this game feels closer to MK2, as was said above, and that to me puts in rather elite company. Love this game! Hope it keeps growing and improving. I know we can’t retroactively remove guests, but I’m really hoping the next Kombat Pack is all MK characters.
