It's "funny" that is 11 days... maybe that's why they did the Kast today. And no Kast 'till the day before release, although I hope GameInformer and others got good stuff for us during the days coming.

Well I... can’t help feeling let down here. Don’t get me wrong the Kitana and D’Vorah stuff was very good (well except the fact of Kitana using Mileena’s moves... wtf NRS?!?!) I liked their show cases.

Upsetting to me is the whole Cetrion re-hash. This pissed me off. They knew they were going to do that even as they got people hyped for seeing another 3 characters (knowing damn well that no one thought one of those was going to be a character who has already gotten a breakdown video). Honestly that felt like a sucker punch after being hyped about seeing three characters who hadn’t gotten videos yet. Also, to be clear, I am not a Cetrion hater! I actually responded to her video positively and am excited to play her. However them re-hashing her here? It’s just wrong when she already got her exposure vids and trailer.

That and the fact that Mileena is all but kicked to the curb this game (I’m hoping not but... this is exactly what they did with Jade not being in MK X) ... this cast is VERY bitter-sweet for me.

I think they did show a glimpse of Bug'Vorah in the trailer at the beginning.

Kitana using Mileena's sai and teleport kick is interesting. It's almost like she's paying homage to her which is fitting that she is fighting D'Vorah.

Yeah I saw that but I meant in a breakdown. Show what moves you can do with it and the damage etc.

I was really surprised about Kitana. Great costume, awesome combo string, massiv combo potencial (juggle combos ftw), cool special moves (except the Sai thing), lame fatal blow, but the second best fatality for Kitana ever made (after her kiss of death). Finally they found a great fatality for her that is fitting her like nothing else they gave her. So many opportunities to pull off great combos. I think she has 4-5 options with krushing blows and special moves. Damn, I love combos so I will play her a lot.

BUT D'Vorah was the one who stealed the show. Finally no recycled special moves in her move set like Cetrion using ground pound of Jax.... She has very unique strings and great special moves for extended combos. And she looks soooooo great. When she floats in (in her intro) I thought she looks like a female Joker. Great! Holy shit, she really could be my main! I am really stunned. Last week Kollector, now D'Vorah. This game ain't getting boring for me. And yes, her fatality is sick, but I also like Noobs one and we didn't see 10+ Fatalities either. But this one could be in the top three (I like Gera's second Fatality a lot).

The stages are looking great.. God please let us have some stage fatalities. Some backgrounds are screaming for it. I don't know what to say.. seems like Mileena is out but for me it could be the best roster in ages. So many great kharacters to figure out.

It would make sense except that Kitana was disgusted by Mileena and saw her as an abomination.

I loved how Mileena developed in MKX - she was much more mature, and I wish we got to see Kitana come to accept her. But as things stand now, it just doesn't make any sense.

I hope she gets her Kiss of Death fatality and hopefully in the same way as in MKII (same for Raiden's electricity explosion fatality), where the defeated is really blowing up (getting "bigger" like a balloon) and then blow to bits.
For the most part, they still rely too much on "cutting up in parts" for a lot of the fatality's. Not that I really mind, but there are enough characters that warrant fatality without being sliced up in every direction possible.

No Frost? Ugh. I really hope they at least release a gameplay trailer for her next week since they're not doing another Kombat Kast.

That's the least they could do. I'd be pretty hurt if the one 3D era character on the roster doesn't even get any pre-game promo like every one else on the roster...

Watching some of it again and I'll chime in on some things that are concerning with Kitana. I knew as soon as they showed the sais that it was gonna be trouble. That kinda sucks all around and I don't understand why they do stuff like that. Another thing is while I like the way Kitana looks in the face and the body the costume is lacking imo. Her MKX default is still the best costume she's had in a while. Other than those gripes I'll say that she had a good presentation. Very combo heavy as she always has been.

They are doing a Kombat Kast on Monday, April 22 for the 2 remaining characters.

I'm glad Frost was not shown today because Kitana looked great, and D'Vorah became my #1 main contender. Also, the new insect cavern stage looks stunning. Mediocre stage design was one of my many complaints about MKX -- glad that has been remedied in MK11. Whoever designed D'Vorah's fatality is obviously a fan of The Thing. Kitana having Mileena moves seems like bad news for Mileena fans (+1 pun). Cetrion's 2nd outfit looks so much better than her Jolly Green Giant skin. Today raised my hype level for MK11, and I'm hoping Frost and Shao Kahn are NRS saving the best for last.

Well let's hope we get a Frost gameplay trailer to hold us over until then.

Agreed. The one character Ive been looking forward to most and nadda. Looks like Monday is Frost / Kahn day. Perhaps we will get a KP trailer too.

Is it just me or did the intro dialogue in the trailer rub me the wrong way? So D'vorah killed King Jerrod at Shao Kahn's behest? What the fuck? I know these are what-if intros but I can't help but sense that they are trying to retroactively insert D'vorah into important events in the past. Please stop that already, for fuck's sake.

D'Vorah may be a new character- but she is supposed to have been around for centuries, I guess even in the old timeline- we just never saw her. So it's possible she killed King Jerrod- it's not that crazy.

I liked it better when Shao Kahn killed King Jerrod himself before merging Edenia and Outworld, it added a sense of gravitas to the ordeal and cemented Shao Kahn as a serious threat. Retconning it to make D'vorah the one to kill Jerrod cheapens the whole thing.

D'vora looks pretty cool, never played her in MKX but will maybe try her out now. Kitana, while gameplay wise she looks great, her outfit is pretty shit. Just... boring, bleak and blue. Her MKX and even her MK9 defaults were much better. Still pissed she has Mileena's sais and moves, and for that she can fuck off.

Maybe it would even be Shao Kahn / Frost / Shang Tsung day? Since Shang Tsung is the first dlc character to be coming, maybe they show a bit of him.

Hm... was Shinnok shown in a Kombat Kast? Because I think you have to unlock Frost via Story Mode and maybe they don't show her in a Kombat Kast.

Jep the stages looks way better in MK11 and there are more than in MKX. The only thing I don't like in MK11 is the background in the menu. It is to dark and boring for me. And I am not a fan of recycling moves. The sai thing for Kitana is a perfect example. Most people don't like the idea and I don't know why NRS is doing it the second time... -.- Cetrion alternate outfit looks way better than her original. If I play her, then in her second outfit.

Exactly. Shao Kahn killing King Jerrod makes it much more personal for Sindel and Kitana.

Shinnok got his head cut off by Raiden in the prologue and his head is in one of the stage backgrounds - the Netherealm cathedral. That's all we've seen of him.

Frost was not listed as an unlockable. She is base roster. It's annoying they've shown two DLC characters before her.
