Don't really like the mobile game but I'll watch the Kast for 2 reasons. 1. Any potential MK11 info that may be included within it. 2. Will they FORCE us to play the mobile app again by having unlockable tie-ins?

SO i never played the mobile game for MKX. Was it necessary to play it for skins on the console?

Some might argue it wasn't necessary, as it only unlocked skins, kards & other cosmetics, and... many don't view those as "necessary" content, so much as "optional" content... but... I'm splitting hairs...

Personally I love cosmetics, and yes, you had to play the mobile game to unlock several skins in the real game. They linked up to one another through your WB account. Playing the real game also unlocked characters in the mobile game, as it happens.

You didn't have to play a ton, as I recall. I think I had everything unlocked in relatively short order. People complain about it too hard imo.

While we have no confirmation that playing the mobile game will unlock items in MK11... it seems at least possible. Especially given the high amount of cosmetics involved in MK11.

I just hope they don't lock any behind online/competitive play this time.

That will really upset me, as I am really big on customization, and if I have to play the mobile game to access all of MK11's customization content, I'm gonna lose out on a lot. Every attempt I've ever made to download the app had been to no avail.

Yeah, I'm with this. I'm sure the game has its merits, but I don't want to have to play two games for one game.

I like the lower-skill Belt Battles between Tyler and Derek, personally. It's a fun little diversion that lets me see what the game looks like in the hands of players who aren't pro level.

I personally consider them a waste of time, as far as Kombat Kasts go.

The time they spend duking it out could be spent showing more content. This is more relevant now, given we have nine weeks left and less than half the roster has been revealed.

I hear you. But keep in mind, they're going to reveal what they want to reveal, at whatever pace they already decided to do it. The extra minutes they spend on Belt Battles are just that -- extra. They've shown you whatever new content they wanted you to see, and the rest is just for shits; it's way to give the audience an hour of time to watch the game in action when they could have wrapped up in thirty minutes. Anyone who doesn't like it can stop watching and probably not miss anything important.

This as well. I'm too mediocre to win online so those are the only costumes I was never able to get in MKX tragically.

Didn't all the costumes get unlocked after awhile? Atleast the ones that only unlocked with the mobile game.
But I'm also into the cosmetics of a game and I wouldn't like it when they are locked behind stuff I'm not able to get. I had a smartphone that wasn't able to play the mobile game. And I shouldn't be forced to buy a smartphone that can. Luckily now I got a friends older smartphone since he bought a new one, so this time it schouldn't be a problem to get it running, but still.
