Some random person says Rain is in and I'm supposed to get excited?

It's not hard to believe that some (if not most) of the leaks were purposely planted misinformation by the devs. I would do it if I was in their shoes. And It's been mentioned before on these forums.

Plus... it's Rain - one of my faves... I want to believe this so much. And I find it stupid / hypocritical they would leave him out and claim to "listen to fans"

Question now is: which of the character that have been announced / leaked, but won't be playable (if we are to belive Rain, and maybe Mileena, are in)
We haven't seen even a hint of gameplay from Kitana. I don't think we've seen gameplay from D'vorah either have we?
No official announcement or reveal of Cetrion, Kollector, and Frost.

I would pre-order this game if Rain was in, but I don't know. Seems unlikely.

D'Vorah I think is for sure going to be playable despite us not having seen any gameplay. They literally confirmed her. Kitana on the other hand, hasn't been given an official confirmation.

But I think everyone will be in as planned. But Mileena I'm starting to doubt- they may just save her for DLC too.

And I fail to understand what could be so "unfixable" about Shang Tsung.

I know it seems unlikely. But despite everything so far I've still be holding out hope for him to be in until all playable characters have been properly announced and revealed.

The Shang Tsung thing could be in regard to his morphing abilities?! But yeah that part of the tweets seem to be the most questionable.

I want to believe it, as I want Rain to be in so badly. However, we already know the roster.

I'd love another character as much as the next guy, but who is this dude, and where is his information allegedly coming from?

Right now I'm looking at "Legitimate looking leaks which continue to be proven more and more credible and correct with each passing day" vs. "Some guy says otherwise, because he knows a guy who says otherwise"

So I guess the whole Kano son rumors never came true. For some reason I was almost sure we'd get him.

Considering how wonderful Kano is in this game, I'm sure his son would be just as fascinating- especially considering MKX hinted at possible Little Kano hating his father.

SHA is obviously the guest kharakter Shaq!

I miss Rain, they really nailed his water effects in 9 & X.

There was a leak where was mentioned that you have to collect 50 pieces of an "armor" in the krypt and then you unlock Rain. When the first krypt trailer came up, Shang Tsung said there you can collect some "very special artifacts".... to be honest.. I think Rain is in the game. I don't have any sources, just my feeling :)

I can't find it yet. I think it was on Reddit where a guy said that Rain, Shang TSung, Mileena and Shinnok were unlockable. There are four places in the krypt, where you can find armorpieces from them. If you collect every piece you unlock the kharacter. Now Shang TSung is DLC but I can imagine that Rain could be an unlockable. I have no proof but I hope for it.

Nah I am calling bullshit on that leak about Shinnok, Mileena, Shang and rain being unloveable. First flaw is Shang being DLC second is Shinnok returning for a second game in a row (not going to happen!). Not sure about Mileena I think DLC for her too popular to exclude entirely although they did leave Noob out of MKX and they are pretty similar in popularity levels. As for the unlockables/secrets I think people are looking too far in to that interview it sort of just eluded to the fact that there would be secret fights not secret hnlockable characters I believe that is a thing of the past these days.

As for rain who knows, he was second most missed male fighter in that twitter poll Ed ran during MKX yet he is the only one on that poll not to be included in the game. Honestly I think he is out, they seem to be systematically reducing the Klassic “ninjas” every game now and he doesn’t really appear to have a place in the story. I guess he’s a possible for DLC but then there’s old statement about not repeating DLC so who knows but honestly his chances are looking slimmer and slimmer as each day passes

Another hint was I think Sonicfox? (or someone else) who has mentioned Rain as his favorite kharacter in MK11. Another progamer mentioned JAde there at a time she wasn't actually announced for MK11. So.... I want to believe :D

Both MK9 and X were fine without Rain in the story. I am fine without Rain at all.

Rain was in the MKX story. More so than several playable characters combined.

Yeah, I wanted to write "without a significant role in the story".

After all the uproar about Rain and Fujin being absent in the last game, I don't see how they can leave them out this time. Especially being marketed as a "fan" game. Be it hidden, base roster or DLC.

This roster reaaally needs a shakeup because it's way to cut and paste from the last game imo.

I do generally like the roster in this game but it is definitely too similar to MKX. I know this is a direct sequel so these characters are likely to reappear, but in that case I wish we would have gotten more characters who have missed out recently.

Here's hoping for some true hidden and unlockable characters and that the DLC really delivers.

That sounds similar to a claim about Rain being in Deadly Alliance almost 20 years ago. Just sounds like they're reviving an old leak.

In case anyone asks, I remember it because I believed the claim and tried more than once to unlock him. Boy was I disappointed. lol
