So I've been playing Injustice 2 along with a smattering of other games but have recently had a MK itch and I've actually been playing on MKX Mobile. But after Injustice 2 I have a pretty big fear as it seems to be the way games are going now, loot boxes. I know that it wasn't in X or 9 and I doubt MK11 will have the gear system but do you think that loot boxes can replace the krypt?

another fear is how Injustice handled premier skins, how they cost crystals or another currency that is rare to come by and to actually get all the skins you need to purchase crystals with real money.

Again, I know this wasn't in 9 or X but its still under the WB umbrella and I really hope it doesn't come down to these things being incorporated. I have no problem with a DLC pack like injustice did, keeps the game really fresh but I fear popular skins will be found either in loot boxes or by a rare currency that will cost real money to get all of them.

what are your thoughts?

I hope not. I HATE these new business models coming out. Just trying to bleed us dry. DLC was bad enough but loot crates are worse. Basically pay-to-win. I hope people will stop passively accepting it and boycott it and finally tell developers we don't want to spend hundreds of dollars + for what is realoy imo a $80-100 game. UK I heard declared loot crates as gambling. I see A LOT of complaints aout loot crates on my ipad games. They do seem to be rigged to just sucker you into spending and I can see how it could easily cause financial problems for people.

I hope not either, just imagine Klassic skins being hidden in a loot box or you can only buy them with a different kurrency that is specially limited so you can't buy everything in the game that costs that kurrency just to make you buy more with your real money.

Injustice wasn't horrible but it screams mobile gaming, not $60 games.

I understand a game like Fallout still costs $60, loaded with content, then a ridiculously good pack of DLC for $30 (then upped to $50 bc of more content)

I understand that, you get a good bang for your buck but I wouldn't be opposed to paying $80 or so for a full game that can maybe cover the cost for free DLC to keep the game fresh.

This just worries me because it was in Injustice and I don't want to see it make its way into MK

After the backlash last year, hopefully devs and publishers get the hint. Loot boxes is a bullshit practice to begin with, but loot boxes in a $60 game($90-$150 if we're adding in dlc costs) is downright insidious. And the pay to win B.S. EA was trying to pull with battlefront 2 is even worse.

Fortunately, so far anyway, NRS seems to value the integrity of the genre for which they develop and seem keen on keeping a level playing field for players. Lord knows, if they really wanted to bleed your bank account dry with a pay to win game, Injustice 2 would've been the game to do it.

Unfortunately, microtransactions are the reality of modern gaming. Backlash or not, no matter how many people open their mouths, microtransactions will still occur. Typically, the loudest mouths against microtransactions are also the biggest consumers of them as well. They get angrier and angrier at themselves everytime they drop $10 here, $25 there, $100 everywhere....it's typical self-loathing projection.

Me? I hate microtransactons. H-A-T-E. I do not partake in them at all. There are some premier skins I want for I2. Never gonna get them, because I will not pay for crystals. Just like when MKXI drops next year and they introduce Dragon Shard Crystals for loot boxes, I won't buy a damn thing.

I know it's a fear, and it's a very valid fear. Your fears will likely come true. As long as there is a way to guarantee that you do not need to do micropurchases in order to do well in the game, I'm totally fine with it. Let them put the store up and make their money - they'll make millions. They just won't make any from me.

I do not want loot boxes in MK. I hate@not having everything and i dont have the time to grind which is why i dont have all abillities or gear in injustice 2

The Krypt is a good way to earb things and getting in game koins that is usefull is nice. I dont like the IN2 money because it doesnt buy gear or skins. I hate how little you earn source crystals
