Well at the risk of asking a stupid question - Is the Scorpion skin only in the Kollector's or the premium as well?

They mentioned nothing about any skins or in-game content in the previews for each edition. Believe it or not, this makes me more interested, small touch though it is. That said, $300 is still pretty damn steep, so maybe not.

And if not, I'll be watching ebay like a hawk.

It doesn't say anything about that. But considering this is a Scorpion centric edition, I have a feeling it will only be for the Kollector's Edition. But don't quote me on that :).
In the store where my MK11 copy is ordered, they had around 15 pre-orders for this edition.

Not worth $300

I got mine pre-ordered. It should come this week. As a Scorpion fan I just can not contain myself. Looks so amazing.

I agree... in the simplest sense. No piece of DLC is really. I don't even think the Kollector's Edition on the whole is really.

But I'm a sucker for a piece of exclusive content. So... had I known this existed... I probably would have had an easier time twisting my arm into buying the Kollector's Edition.

I might have just kept it.

At the very least I probably would have bought it and sold the mask on ebay to recoup some of the cost.

But like I said... I'll be watching the secondary market like a hawk. Not for the whole bundle... but someone who doesn't care will scalp that skin.

Whatever the quality, I think they will go up high in price unless it's someone who isn't out for money and doesn't know what he/she is holding.

And still. 300 maybe a lot (and not forgetting the game + kombat pass), but statues are these days, especially when limited.
I don't even know what I'm getting... I'll find out Thuesday. But it's getting hard seeing how much people already got the game. And if I go by comments, some didn't even preorder.

Yeah, it's a shame that isn't included. I still got mine from MK9. I like that sort of stuff.

Me too, though I really could have gone with more artist notes and more art in that small little thing. Still happy I got it though and I still have no idea what to do with those bookends.

That too. I always want to see the process of design and development. I'm trying to make a (fighting)game myself, on and off. But I always get stuck and lose hope, when I can't find the process to approach these things. I have one character modeled already and face rigged. But I still need to do texturing and stuff. But I don't know if my polycount is good and stuff like that. And also still need to develop the background. I got a tiny bit of concept art.
I actually took inspiration from MK and also movies like The Running Man.

I didn't get the Kollector's Edition of MK9. MK9 came out back in an era when I was jobless and poor. I couldn't spring for Kollector's Editions back then. I did get X, and I wanted to get 11 until I saw the pricetag (which promptly changed my mind)...

That said, I still have the MK9 art book, because I found a copy for less than 5 bucks at a local half-price books store. So that worked out.

not worthy at all. MK9 Kollector's Edition was good and nice, i got both US and EU versions, which are very different. MKX Kollector's was also nice, but not as good as MK9. MK11 Kollector's Edition i skipped altogether.

I'd say that's about what it's worth. What an overpriced package that was for so little.

I like seeing the thought process and drafts that artists and designers went through that lead to the definitive conclusive outcome. It's why I love the MKDA Krypt so much. It gave us such wonderful insight into what the artists were thinking.

I'd say follow some dudes on twitter. There's a twitter account called Indie Fighting Games and a pretty rad artist aspiring to make a fighting game named Blupervillain. Plus there are some 3D art forums that I'm sure you could get advice from. And I'd also say follow some people who have an understanding about fighting games. I learned a lot form watching Maximilian Dood, mind you I can't program for shit.

Just some things that might keep you going and give you some help.

The Kollector's Edition is back in stock at Gamestop.com as of today. Frankly the skin was enough to tempt me over the line. I'm a sucker for exclusive in-game content.

My Premium Edition already ordered through Best Buy is arriving tomorrow. This Kollector's Edition should arrive later in the week.

I can always re-sell the second premium edition copy of the game I'll now have (from within the Kollector's Edition) to recoup ~$100. You can usually get about retail for games if you re-sell them right away. Honestly might flip some of the other items just to recoup some of the cost as well, as the skin interests me more than the mask & medallion. BUT who knows... I'm a fan, maybe I'll fall in love with them once they're in-hand and just decide to keep'em... we'll see...

WB Games Support has confirmed both that the skin is not included in the Premium Edition, and that it won't be release for sale outside the Kollector's Edition (Much like the Gold Scorpion skin from MKX)...

I struggled hard not to buy this, really wanted that mask in my office. If it were made of higher quality materials i would have bought it np at $300..But all plastic...that’s tough to justify at that price. Glad they sold out...twice before i could pull the trigger.

FYI...both the ps4/xbox kollectors editions are back up for sale on Gamestop’s website.

So I’ve been driving myself nuts scouring the internet for info & watching unboxing videos for each edition trying to figure out what’s in each box, and weirdly, I noticed the Kollector’s Edition contents vary depending on where you live...

So the standard edition comes in your typical blue/green plastic case.
The Premium Edition, as advertised, comes in a black & gold steelbook.

Here’s the weird thing...

The Kollector’s Edition comes with a copy of the premium edition, but the case varies by region...

Every collector’s edition comes with a black on black steelbook. Which houses the collectible magnet and has space for the disc. This steelbook is different from the Premium edition steelbook which is Black & Gold... HOWEVER...

As far as I can tell International versions of the Kollector’s edition ALSO come with the black & gold steelbook (which houses the game disc)... meaning you get both steelbooks & no plastic case.

But US copies of the Kollector’s Edition come with just the black on black steelbook, and the game is housed in a plastic case (still labeled Premium Edition, despite not being in the black & gold steelbook). Meaning US copies of the Kollector’s Edition have 1 steelbook & 1 plastic case.

Which is kinda BS if you’d prefer both steelbooks, and wasn’t exactly spelled out in the advertising.

All that said, it seems the Scorpion skin comes in all versions of the Kollector’s Edition. In international copies it’s on top of the box, outside the game case. In US copies, it’s inside the game case.

Yeah, I can confirm this. I picked up my surprise this morning. And since the box was so big, it was indeed the Kollector's Edition. I'm from Belgium and I got both the full black steelcase with the dragon logo magnet, and the steelcase with the logo and letters in gold color. I was surprised, since I saw others just having a regular cover.
What I was disappointed at was the box itself. Is saw some of those youtubers getting one and that had this sturdy wooden/plastic thick box. So I thought we were getting that aswell, only to be left with a simple cardboard box :/.

About the helmet, it is indeed plactic (atleast the stand and the golden mouthpiece), but a decent quality. The rest of the mask is real thick and sturdy, that I don't really know if it is plastic or some combination of plastic with rubber.

Also from what information I can gather - It seems the Gold Demon Scorpion Skin is actually 6 skins, as the code (according to what I've seen) unlocks the skin in 6 different color palettes.

At first people were complaining that the colors didn't match the image on the card, and then they gradually began to realize it was because the skin unlocks in multiple colors, and... people didn't initially seem to realize this.
