As someone who, on this forum and others, has been completely outspoken and clear about their desire to see characters other than Trilogy folk make a triumphant comeback even I have to admit - HOLY FUCKING HELL. These new models look so insanely good. I don't think Liu, Lao, Kitana and Jax have ever looked better, imo.

The story mode in this game is going to be intense! So hard to pick what’s going to happen, I wonder what role Noob is going to play in it, him, subzero, Frost and cetrion have had next to no story mode exposure makes me wonder his role in it all.

Was really hoping that the Jax leak would prove to be wrong but deep down I knew we’d be getting him back again.

So does that firm up the initial 25 chcarcters or is there one more for Smoke?

Man, don't worry, there's no way Kitana is NPC because you can kustomize her. I'm sure they will show her gameplay soon.

I have a feeling aswell that that's the case. Maybe we won't even see Shang Tsung in the story, but he will be part of it. Don't think we will be fighting him nor be able to fight as him in the story. The monks are indeed a giveaway and also not forgetting earlier trailer with revenant Liu Kang shooting a flameskull. Or maybe they've given revenant Liu Kang skulls instead of dragons.
The Krypt will probably be an extension of the story?

The original leak had 24 plus a character slot labelled "SHA" ... so Shao Kahn might be counted as the 25th. He will be in the base game on release after all. Just locked behind a paywall.

Or it could be Shang Tsung. As he too is in the game to some degree.

I really hope this is wrong and that there is room for more characters who are yet to be seen. But I highly doubt that.

So it is probably safe to assume Jax his arms are going to be the thing we can choose the design of? Seeing the gameplay between young Jax and Older Jax (not in Kronika attire).

Although you can only see parts of his shoulders.... in the story cutscene of young Jax squaring up to beardJax.... beardJax in the "Kronika outfit" his arms don't look metal. He could be wearing sleeves over his mechanical arms, but I get the feeling -- if what someone else said is true and Jax has joined Kronia -- maybe she gives him his real arms back.

You have to look at the fight just after that, young Jax fighting Old Jax in Goro's Lair (see screenshot). Those are definitly different metal arms. Just regular humans arms will probably also be a "gear" option.

Yeha, for sure his arms will be customisable.... I'm just saying the Old Jax who could be on Kronika's side seems to have his normal arms back.

I don't think he does have his arms back. I think he just has more Geras-Like Kronika Construct arms.

Not to mention giving him his arms back could potentially create customization problems, as they'll damn near definitely be one of his 3 customization options. If one of his skins had flesh arms, that could potentially be problematic. I think he just has fleshy-robot-geras-construct arms. Less machiney but still artificial.

I mean according to Geras' Bio Kronika basically made him from scratch, and he looks fleshy enough.

His beardless face in some videos looks very young. They haven't come out and said anything about him though. And barely shown him in any of the story trailers. Either past or present versions.

I don't know man, Sub-Zero is looking pretty young in this game. Could be that older Kuai is dead for the duration of the story. They might retcon how Sub-Zero gets his scar again. Maybe making it something more substantial than Kano giving it to him, just like in the old canon.

But then again, Scorpion doesn't look like he's a day past 30 so who knows. Could just be NRS being traditionally inconsistent.

Indeed, in that picture you can see the arms are mechanical. And arms made of flesh may make it difficult for some special moves, like the grab punch where his arms get heated.

Considering how the game's story involves the kharakters confronting themselves, and questioning past/future decisions, Check yourself before you wreck yourself would fit the established theme. Also according to gameplay mechanics, and 9 out of 10 Doctors, shotgun shells are bad for your health...

Did they scan 2 different actors to portray Jax? I like the way beard Jax looks a bit more.

Why would superheated/flaming arms affect Jax' flesh differently than any of the other dozen fire wielding kharakters? I suppose it could be argued he doesn't/didn't know about chi or whatever to not be negatively affected.
