I`m a little concerned myself over the lack of sex appeal in this game..yes MK9 was over the top, but this is way over the top on the other side.

I like the women to show some more skin..not like poledancing sluts, but some cleavage and a little more skimpy outfits. why do i need to see skin you ask? Let me give you an example: When Mcdonalds advertise their burgers, they don`t cover it up in the cartons..they reveal all their delicious ingredients and make them look as tasty as possible...i know a burger is good even if i don`t see it, but it is soo much more appealing when i see i little bit more than just the cardboard box it`s hidden inside of.(No i don`t see women as meat i must devour so just drop it..i was just trying to make my point come across) Let`s be honest here guys....sex SELLS..it is not given that the game would have sold less if they'd let the women fighters shed some more clothing..imo.

In MK games you should not have to "imagine" how hot the women are underneath all that clothing and headwear...it is indeed a sad time we live in when Mortal Kombat has succumbed to PC...tragic!

^ Yep. Plus, when everyone is covered head to toe in the same style combination of cloth & metal, their appearances all start just kinda blending together like they did in Injustice. I understand continuity within the art style of the game, but it seems like there's just 1 tailor in the entire MK universe that designs in a similar style for everyone.

I think that's actually what makes Geras stand out from the others so well - he's not covered from head to toe in spiked metal. Just apply that same mentality to both sexes to offer more visual variety. That would also make the gear customization feature feel really rich, if they end up including a ton of variety. It's too early to judge that though. For all I know, I'll be pleasantly surprised with all the options they already have in place. Customization is certainly what I am most excited about.

If classic skins are returning, that would be awesome and would alleviate these concerns. Let's get her (alternate) Deception costume as a classic skin Boon! :)

Sonya has a costume baring her midriff and arms, with a skin tight tank top and spandex pants. One of Skarlet's alts has some pretty decent cleavage, and even one of the versions that doesn't show breast still has a hole in the costume just under the breast for no other reason than to give her an extra touch of sexuality. All of her outfits manage to be form-fitting despite having layers. You can easily see her shapely figure even where the skin itself is covered up. Jade is more conservatively dressed than in some of her other appearances, but is still showing more upper body skin than she did in MK2. (God, remember when the females could be hot without them having to show you all their "delicious ingredients?")

Sex may sell, but these are royal assassins and bodyguards, and military officers we're talking about. It's not their job to titillate you; they're here to fight. Do we expect any of the guys to give anyone a sexual thrill? It's not like Johnny Cage has to uppercut somebody with his penis to earn the admiration of fans. Do we need to see Raiden show off his god bod or give us a peek at Kid Thunder bulging in his pants beforewe can take him seriously as a character? Does anyone say, "C'mon, show us your delicious ingredients, Kenshi!"

(Yes, I'm going to keep harping on about your tasty-meat analogy. If you were so concerned about your point being taken the wrong way, you could have picked a different metaphor.)

I've seen some posts here arguing that some of the guys fight with their shirts off, but we all know better than to pretend it's the same thing. Have you ever watched an action movie? When the shirts come off, it's to show off their muscles to intimidate the enemy. That's not what you're asking the women to do here. Is a man of action going shirtless sexually thrilling? Fuck yeah. But so far the dudes in MK can easily go with or without a sexual dimension and no one bats an eye. But here we are judging every chick released so far based how much they tickle your pants. (Even D'vorah gets complaints for not being pretty enough, despite being a literal walking plague of horrors.)

So... why not just be honest with yourself and everyone else. You said you "need to see skin," and that's all you need to say to remind us that skin is an overriding measure of these characters' worth to you and you can't or won't appreciate them without it.

Personally, I think women are a lot hotter when they wear clothes that show some personality, whether that involves a little bit of fabric or a lot. Showing off your sweet meats in an uninspired bikini just to make people look at you and salivate -- that seems pretty shallow, uncreative, manipulative, and unattractive, and so the women's costume design in MK9 was a pretty big turnoff that distracted me from the game with its cartoonish excesses. But maybe that's just me.

This right here alone.

Sadly, most men on the internet will not agree with you.

Just give everyone their classic costumes and we can be happy! I love Jade in her classic MK3 look and I'm gay! I am also okay with SOME of the women being a little flirty. Jade in MK9 was everything to me. The females definitely don't all need to dress like Ashrah for things to be okay. Some balance is the best way to be.

Not particularly directed at you (as it may come across that way), but why do people feel the need to (constantly) mention their sexual preference on a fighting game? I don't actually see what a skin/costume (or the character in itself) has anything to do with ones sexual preference or that it would make a statement that more valid. I think everybody knows by now, if someone is gay, they can still find the opposite sex beautiful.
It's not that you are saying it, but I've seen this been mentioned regularly on these threads: "Oh, she looks fine and I'm gay!" It's not because someone is gay, they think women (or vice versa) are "icky" or something.
Really, nothing personally, but it was the x number of such a comment passing through that I now felt to speak my mind. And if someone feels the need to "attack" me for mentioning this, know that I also belong under that lgbt-flag.

Though I do agree, would be nice if everyone would have some classic (inspired) outfits.

Isn't your touting of the lgbt flag used in the same manner? You're saying it to validate your statement at least to some degree.
