All of your stats have carried over from the old site. But engaging in forum activity is key for all users to rank up.

I believe that Mortal is actually the second rank because yesterday I noticed a couple of people online with 0 posts who had a rank called Babality.

I'm currently a Kombatant (which I think used to be Warrior), and I have no idea where that is in this new rank system.

I changed my mind. Can I get my mortal rank back and not rank up please? The student rank sounds lame and im offended to be ranked as one since im visiting this website before some of the admins maybe ;d

I've been a member since my high school days, which dates back aaaall the way back to pre-2002, yet I'm not making an issue of my rank. It's an Internet forum, not the Marines. Rank doesn't matter all that much in an Internet forum, unless you're power hungry or enjoy lording over everyone ranked lower than you. My suggestion is that you take enjoyment in what this site has to offer outside of its insignificant ranking system. For the love of God, man, MK11 is coming in just over three months. We'll have loads to keep us busy until then, so don't make a mountain out of an anthill, chief.

Onto your other complaint, I doubt you can rank down without somehow negating all that you've done to get to your "Student" rank. You could always create a new account. Though, despite there being no list of site rules anywhere, I'm sure that's a practice that's frowned upon around here. I'm not exactly sure how you rank up as it isn't explained, but it may have something to do with Dragon Points. Submitting artwork no longer awards a user with Dragon Points, but a lot of users who have submitted artwork in the past have higher ranks than you and me. Starting new threads seems to allow for one to garner a Dragon Point or two so long as its purpose revolves around starting a discussion. Post count doesn't seem to have an effect on rank, either. But, it does seem odd seeing users with 60 or fewer posts sitting at the same rank as long-time users. Hell, I posted with the goal of helping a new user earn a trophy in MKX and wasn't awarded anything for my efforts. Nor did I expect anything.

I really have no idea how things work around here as far as rank and the earning of Dragon Points are concerned, but I don't care, either. Maybe I'm in the minority in that regard, but I really don't see many people here complaining about their rank.

Just to throw in 2 cents (since the discussion is already afoot)...

I've been here since this place was MK5.org, I'll grant you, I'm only really active prior to the release of a new game, when news & discussion is high, but I have been active (on and off) prior to the release of EVERY new game since at least Deception (including MK vs DC, because we didn't know that wasn't a real MK game at first)...

And I have no idea where student falls on the hierarchy (in fact what led me to this thread was a search trying to figure that out, which I still haven't)... BUT... I feel like I've been a rank that sounded lame for 10 to 15 years. I mean there are people in this thread with less than 100 posts who are students.

Just checked mine. I got 3k ;d lol you should introduce custom ranks as MK 11 is doing for fighters. You should provide that to older members.

Okay, serious question:

This morning I noticed I was a Kombatant for the first time and said, "Hey! I'm finally a Kombatant after 10 years! Woohoo!"

And now a few hours later I notice I'm a Student again. What gives!? How did I lose a rank in a matter of hours? I don't see a "downvote" on these posts, and I don't remember going into any tyrannical obscenity filled tirades this morning, which would cause the mods to demote me or something.

I was briefly happy, and you stole it away from me ranking gods!

EDIT: I made this post, and literally turned into a Kombatant again immediately after making it. The Elder Gods are most fickle, and apparently waffling on my rank.
