Crossing fingers for a smooth transition.

A part of me still wishes they'd toss Khameleon in as a timed exclusive for switch owners- then release her as bonus DLC for everyone else later on.
Gotta keep up the tradition.

Very encouraging impressions. Nintendo is apparently not allowing footage to be captured, but these guys came away happy. 60fps locked, decent graphics(older build apparently). I may go ahead and put that preorder down.

I saw that video earlier today. I suppose it's good news.
I can't imagine why they won't let even news outlets capture footage of the game. Nintendo themselves won't even post footage of it. All the footage they have is of the PS4/Xbox version.
I may just preorder myself, anyway. Beats paying for Shao Kahn.

Definitely strange. The gamexplain guys have pretty much nothing but positive things to say, including how the game looks. They do note the graphical disparity between the ps4/xb1 versions and this, but anyone who’s even mildly paying attention already expected this. I’m just happy to hear the game is running smoothly. That was hands down my biggest fear. As far as graphics, I played the hell out of MK9 on the Vita, I don’t really care.

The real Smoke.
Wish they'd allow footage, it'd be nice to have something to base the purchase decision on! Especially for those swaying between owning multiple copies of the game.

More positive comments, still no footage.

I done already went and pre-ordered the game for the Switch.
I already have plenty of other games on the Switch, and they all look great. Mortal Kombat 11 shouldn't look a disaster in any way. I'll just trust everyone else's word. It's not like they have anything to gain by saying the game sucks.
I don’t understand why this is so secretive. Just show the damn game already. Everyone knows the game will look worse than next gen, nobody cares.
Aparently it is Nintendo that does not want to show MK11 running on Switch. Nothing NRS can do.
They could easily acquire footage from Shiver Entertainment and show it themselves. They elect not to.
That's the thing that really bothers me. NRS isn't even willing to show footage.

And risk annoying Nintendo? The message from Nintendo is clear. They do not want MK11 running on Switch to be shown.

Nintendo is not going to raise hell for it, and they're certainly not going to remove NetherRealm from their third party line up, giving their #1 priority with the Switch is securing as many third party titles as possible (hence the Smash Ultimate DLC being all guest characters).
If anything, it might be a decision NRS made. I'm guessing they didn't want to risk hindering Switch sales by showing the port alongside the main version. The thing is, though, we expect the Switch version to not look the same. We know it's going to be different. My hope is that with the praise the port has gotten so far, NRS will be willing to showcase some of the footage in maybe a kombat kast or something. Fans should be able to see the footage before the game is released. It's only right.
Well... to be honest... this is a bad sign for me. Why don't they show some footage? I mean it is only a month til it's released. Are they not convinced enough about their work? I saw also some "reviews" and the people said that the gameplay is good and runs with 60fps but the grafic is ok and not overwhelming. This is the price you pay to play it everywhere. It is ok for me, but it can't compare to X-Box and PS4. Sure the Switch version don't need to be compared to other consoles but I think the developer don't believe in their own product. I am really skeptical...

How do you know Nintendo would not raise hell for it? Nintendo would not let tournament organisers stream Smash Bros because they did not want to broadcast their own characters hitting one another. Nintendo is extremely protective of their image. Nobody has said the decision was made by NRS. A person at the event and who reported on the port said that Nintendo did not allow any footage of MK11 to be captured.

Nintendo proudly flaunts the gory and raunchy Bayonetta series as their own, even though it's technically Sega's.
They have no problem advertising Mortal Kombat 11 on their official site, trailer and all, and offers the option to buy it directly from the game's Nintendo page! Protectiveness is clearly not the issue. This is a money issue.
If people saw the Switch version right up with the PS4/Xbox version, they could end up choosing the main version on graphics alone. I understand this dilemma myself, but again, fans expect the port to be different. We just don't expect it to be crap, and if Bayonetta 2 is any indication of what the Switch could already accomplish (and that shit originally launched on the Wii U), then I say Mortal Kombat 11 is in very good hands.
The consensus on the graphics is "noticeable, but not a problem." That means it's a slight downgrade. An expected one. It's time to show us the goods.

This is pretty much the root of the issue. The Switch version, especially in handheld mode, absolutely will not hold a candle to the graphical fidelity of even a standard xb1/ps4. If one of the selling points of your new game is a “brand new graphics engine”, it’s not hard to understand why they’re not releasing footage of the Switch version. Frustrating, but understandable.
