I really like the fatalities and I think they upped the bar once again for future MKs. Only gripe is... most of the fatalities involve dismemberment and splitting in half. I would really like to see more melting, burning, and use of fighters’ special powers rather than rely on slice and dice. What are your thoughts?

I'm not a fan of the way the fatalities end with shit frozen in mid air. And I agree with you on more magical/unique power fatalities. Those are the ones that show character instead of the dismemberment stuff.

True, I had the same feeling. But i can say some of the brutalities has magical effects so they compensate the lack of magical fatalities. But I wish NRS would gave some kharacters classic fatalities which includes magical stuff (Liu Kang's dragon).

Also not a fan of Frozen Fatality poses but hey they tried something a new right ? I can see NRS worked very hard on their guts physics but ya almost every fatality has someone getting gutted or sliced at the torso. Though not a huge fan of what I've seen so far I am sure there will be one or two that'll make me go ouch lol

I agree about using more magical powers/special moves, melting , burning for fatalities.

My biggest complaint so far is the slow motion at the end, and the fatality is not even completed.
I remember in the previous games, the fatality was done and the body just stood there on the ground bleeding, music had ended, complete silence, and then "FATALITY!!" was heard among the silence. It was shocking. Now that effect is gone, replaced by some matrix style slowmo, which doesnt fit the horror of the game in my opinion, and you cant even see the dead body.
I loved the MKX endings of fatality where the body just lied there on the ground split in half, twitching and bleeding to death....

I think they did well with the fatalities in this game but making them more diverse would be great. If they ever add Sareena to the roster I hope one of her fatalities includes morphing into her demon form and then eating the opponent alive, for example.

Like others here, I really don’t care for the slow motion/freeze thing. I’m also not keen on the camera work for a lot of the fatalities either. Some have too much camera movement, some have too many close up shots, and a lot have fast cuts too. It can make it really difficult at times to see a lot of the details or to even tell what is going on.

The fatalities themselves appear to be very good/disgusting...I just wish they were easier to watch.

Overall, huge improvement over MKX fatalities. Only a few are meh. Some are truly disgusting, such as Geras' peel, and both of D'Vorah's. Some brutalities are quite good, too.

From what I've seen these are among some of the best. Some are flat out hard to watch. There's a few duds but even those are still miles above some of the weakest fatalities we've had in previous games.

I don't like the frozen images at the end of the finishers. Also some of them are not as creative or as inventive as we've really seen in the past. I do like Cassie's where she kicks the spine out, that is cool and funny, and maybe Kahn's hammering the head out you rear is pretty funny too. Don't like either one of Skarlet's nor Kano's. I just think they can be more creative.
