As someone who now works as a supermarket custodian for a living, when i saw that intro for the first time, the first thing that came to mind was "Thank God that's one mess I don't have to clean up"

Yikes, I could see it looking bad if someone intro swapped over that one... but then again, is it really that big of concern? People really need to go out of their way to intro swap, so for most it won't be much of an issue.

I agree the intro is kinda gross, but it also seems in character for Kano. I am okay with them keeping it. Remember it is not the only intro Kano will have, as you can choose from several of them. If you come across it in single player mode you can skip too; not positive about online though. Guess if it grosses you out just be prepared to cover your eyes when facing Kano online

First, it’s a person urinating, it’s about as simple and natural as it gets. I suppose maybe the fact that he’s not doing it at a urinal is crude, but...

Second, that’s Kano. He’s absolutely the kind of feral savage that would challenge you to a fight and postpone it for a moment while he whips it out and relieves himself.

Third, how has NRS chosen to be “less offensive” for this game? Johnny Cage is flipping the bird with a grin at the camera, Baraka is ripping people’s face off and eating their brains, Kabal’s fatality is downright hard to watch...unless...oh, you’re talking about breasts being covered up, aren’t you?

As someone that preferred the women to be dressed more like warriors after MK9, I can’t say I see anything offensive about Kano’s intro. Even if it’s gender swapped, who cares?

Mind you, I wasn’t offended by the way the women dressed or in some cases acted in MK9, I just thought it was kinda weak, uninspired and somewhat ridiculous from a character design perspective and yeah, a bit objectifying as well. I know they’re not real, but they were just another example in a sea of examples, that’s all.

I’m explaining all that because I don’t think Kano’s intro raises any of those red flags. He’s not peeing on anyone, he’s not doing anything sexual, you don’t see his business, and it fits who he is as a character to a T instead of being some sort of random design choice that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Thats just my two cents though. Anyone can be offended by just about anything, but I kinda doubt something like this would get the PC chorus chanting “that’s too far,” but maybe I’m wrong.

Oh and maybe I’m way off base here OP, but it kinda sounds like you’re the one that doesn’t want it in the game, no? You don’t have to use being worried about the PC police as cover or whatever if you’re worried about the anti-PC people coming after you for just having an opinion. It’s okay to not like something.

There are new characterizations that are given to the characters and I am not sure whether they are done by Kittlesen or not.

He has done the comics.. they re shitty and now he is writing for the game and is writing some of the intors which IMO are weaker than MKX

I liked Kano for his surviving abilities not for his nastiness and spits and this is just a focus of the ugly side of him.

I agree that it's gross and I could do without it... but I don't really want to get into a huge friggin' debate about the "right and wrong" "should the or shouldn't they" ethics and ramifications of potentially getting rid of it...

It pissed me off when Blizzard removed the Tracer win pose where they showed off her butt a bit from Overwatch, and it pissed me off when Capcom removed the R. Mika animation from Street Fighter V where she slapped her ass... SO while I do think it's gross, it would be rather hypocritical of me to say, "REMOVE IT!" for that reason... and I'm not saying I think they should remove it. Just registering my opinion I think it's gross *Shrug*

I didn't like Sub-Zero's MK9 babality where he pissed himself either. I've also never liked Bo-Rai-Cho's grosser qualities.

Curiously, I never had a problem with with Chaos peeing on people in Primal Rage... guess it's a human/animal thing that sets off my "gross" flags. *Shrug*

Then again, I didn't really have problems with burping or farting in the Beavis & Butt-Head game on Genesis... so... who knows.

That said, what I initially forgot, and quickly remembered after watching a few customization videos is... each character has multiple intro animations, and players are free to choose a different one...

So... at the very least, if you're a Kano player, you can avoid it easily enough. I imagine if you fight a randomly generated Kano in-game, or even a player generated Kano online, you might still see it from time to time... but. Eh, I'll live.

Nope. I like his intros. It fits the character. I should feel offended by Johnny's nut punch, the cursing added in MK games now, Jade's Pole Dance in MK9, the extra skin they show, or the lack of skin show, Bo's disgusting farts, etc etc etc. But there is no need to because a lot of these traits are for comic relief, entertainment, etc-- and if it fits the character, why not?

Seeing a close up X-ray of someones testicles exploding, limbs being ripped off and eaten, and people bathing in blood is all fine.... but show some pee and a bit of thigh and people want it removed from the game?

I get that people have different levels of tolerance for different things, it just baffles me how in the western world that anything to do with sex or genitals is disgusting and evil, while violence, torture, and murder is not only acceptable, but very much encouraged.

Problem is; if you censor one thing.... why not others? Where is the line drawn and who gets to draw it?

Lets face it, Kano is a crude man. a very crude man. So it is very in character for him to do that. Personally, I would love it if he go farther that is in character for him.

Some of ya'll are over-reacting to the startling revelation that some people find pee gross. This isn't shocking news to hear. Nor are most people here making a federal case about it.

My best friend finds poop hilarious, but I find it gross. Conversely, he hates horror movies and cringes when I force him to watch one, but I'm unphased by them. Fake gore, no matter the realism, has little to no effect on me. One of my favorite memories of all time: Person gets squished flat by a giant pane of glass in Final Destination 2, he buries his face in his hands, I burst into laughter, and just hear him yelling from within his sleeve, "WTF is wrong with you!"
