I believe it was a great change honestly, she looks way more serious than before and in my opinion, she was the MVP of character reveals for MK11. Her facial animations are really good looking and her voice does work well with how she looks too.

Let me preface this by saying I think Scarlet looks incredible. I love her hair and face, she looks beautiful.

I feel like NRS/WB has put far to many cloths on females in Mortal Kombat 11 and they scaled down the boobs size dramatically. It's like they aren't allowed to show skin or sexuality whatsoever.

im not understanding this, women can be sexy, strong and cool at the same time they don't need to be scaled down to be more masculine.

Mortal Kombat has always displayed female Kharacters sexuality and owned it remember the Mileena string wrap costume in MKX?

if they could I'd like a costume for females that shows skin more like older Mortal kombats.

It's because of the insane SJW movement that is ruining all creative outlets in the entertainment industry in general. These people are just angry, irrational and completely self-absorbed. And very vocal. They can't tolerate the idea that men find any type of joy for when it comes to women. It's not about equality, it's about a false sense of entitlement, and so they are now dictating what can and what cannot be put on a screen; even when it's just 3D models in a fighting game. If dudes like a half-naked costume for their favorite female MK characters, then that's not allowed; you are not allowed to enjoy a woman's sexuality, because they have already decided that if you do; you're somehow immoral, perverted and unjust. They just want to suck all the fun out of any kind of experience men might have.

This has never really been much of an issue throughout the years, but in recent times, developers and artists have been increasingly censored because of these fanatical lunatics. In most cases, I'd doubt these 'critics' even play MK games, and yet, they're being taken very seriously, because there's a lot of these imbeciles out there, and they band together and have an impact on these things. It's also probably true that this mind-set has already infiltrated the very company that makes Mortal Kombat games, so that some of their team members adhere to this delusional world-view.

I recall one tweet of someone writing that he wanted sexy female costumes in Mortal Kombat 11 and that NRS would lose his respect if they didn't put some sexy costumes in the game. Tyler Landsdown, who is the community manager for crying out loud, responded to that tweet by saying something along the lines of: "I don't want your respect! What a disgusting thing to say!!" That just goes to show that even the community manager, who is there specifically to open dialogue with the fans, so that their opinions are taken seriously, and to ensure people are going to buy their product; even this guy seems to be on the SJW's side. He thinks it's so awful that a guy would actually want some feminine looking female characters in a Mortal Kombat game. What a horrible thing to say!! That unprofessional reply made me lose respect for Tyler.

I was just looking at this: https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/sep/23/senoir-artist-netherrealm-reveals-injustice-2-costumes-and-designs-were-too-hot-final-build/

It shows you some early concept art and ideas by an artist working on Injustice 2 female characters, and how his sketches and renders were being rejected by NRS and WB. He talks about why none of that stuff made it into the game, even though he himself liked most of it. They were constantly telling him to tone it down. I mean, he was modelling some actual female butts and curves, but that was too sexy according to the higher-ups. Make no mistake; it'll be a lot worse for Mortal Kombat 11.

This isn't related to MK, but it's an example of how powerful these SJ warriors have become now. There's this 16 year old girl who was going to compete in the Euro Vision Song Festival, and she would represent Romania. Her name's Laura Bretan, who is arguably one of the best singers on the planet. But she didn't even make it through; she was voted out of the competition early. Why? Not because of her song; the song was great, and like I said, her vocal abilities are of an extremely high level. The girl's a Christian, though, and she had this opinion that only men and women should get married, which to me is a perfectly normal opinion for a Christian. One might disagree with that opinion, but you cna at the very least say that yeah ok, that's part of the Biblical idea of what would constitute marriage. You can criticize it, or ignore it, that's fine. But what happened was, this giant shitstorm emerged online, and you wouldn't believe the amount of support it got from the SJW and LGBTQ movement. People were absolutely hating on the girl, saying the most horrible things about her. And so they made it their mission to vote her out of the competition, and they succeeded. Instead of being judged on her vocal performance, IN A SINGING CONTEST, she was being judged on her political/religious identity. So end of story for sweet little Laura, and they were happy about it too. They saw this is an accomplishment, they were so proud that they all ruined this girl's chances of even competing. If they don't like something, if they find anything in any type of entertainment outlet that doesn't line up with their own agenda, they're going to attack it until compromises are made, or until they destroy the damn thing. It's a sickness of the age, really, and it is affecting Mortal Kombat 11 too.

The tweet Tyler Lansdown actually got was "She looks disgusting !!! Make girls look sexy if u want my money and respect." I think he's within reason to respond with "I don't want your respect. Truly awful comment." given the rude nature of the original? It's quite funny how people throw the term "social justice" as a bad thing around these boards. What exactly is so appalling about not wanting to offend a community for once? If females are covered up, they have "smaller boobs" or whatever, how is that an attack on anyone? Because your opinions are more valid?

It's almost like they're too used to design studios pandering to them as an audience and, for once, because it's going in a different direction they feel the need to throw a tantrum. It's rather ironic that the people who are supposedly so "anti-outrage culture" are throwing the biggest tantrums here about characters not looking their way. If you're basing your choice in buying the game purely on how little clothing a female character has on, don't buy it? That would send the message to the creators, I guess and save more shallow biases coming out.

Back to Skarlet's face, I absolutely love how unique it looks. Her costume looks like a very fleshed out design and it alone has me intrigued about what role she will play in the game. The hair - I really dislike the red highlights that look very early noughties, but the cut adds some variation, I think. In general, I really think her look has been elevated from "generic MK lady in red" to a unique warrior with a backstory. I really hope they have some sexy costumes to appease all the fans though. I personally really enjoy a well designed look, no matter how much or how little skin it shows. Putting it this way, some days a person might want to wear shorts and another day they can choose long trousers, right?

Oh wow so that's misleading then, because I heard about this on some YouTube channel, and they quoted the tweets, but they left that very first part out, where it says that "She looks disgusting!" It's kind of important, though, so yeah, my interpretation was based on an incomplete quote then. This would put Tyler's reaction in a different context. Fair enough. I don't think Skarlet looks disgusting, I think her physical model is just fine. Her costume, I'm not a big fan of, and I certainly wouldn't mind sexier options (at least as alternate costumes), but she does not look disgusting, at all.

Aside from that part, I still stand by everything I said.

Overall Skarlet looks good, I just hate that pilot/terrorist costume they gave her, hope it's not the Primary.
