To me that theory sounds more like wishful thinking from someone who really does not like Jacqui, and I think all of those points could be refuted;

-I have never heard of the leaker who got banned for saying Jax was in. Is there any proof that what he says is true? Anybody can say that they were a beta tester or have inside information. Hundreds of people have claimed to be; if there's no proof then it really should not be considered anything more than a fan who really wants their roster to be correct.

-As far as I know the only snippet of the Steam trophy reads "Jac..." and is cut off from there. If there is an official source that has the full sentence, I'd be interested to see it. Otherwise I don't see why one should assume the trophy should say "Jackson Briggs" in this game when Jax has been called "Jax" in every game prior. The only character who has began with "Jac" in game has been Jacqui.

-I have not heard any voice clips stating that the Kombat Kids are dead. I heard on that stated "Your spawn will defy destiny" from a Geras vs Sonya match. It would be quite a stretch to say that he's referring to her being the sole surviving Kombat kid. It's more likely referring to her hand in defeating Shinnok, which was an outcome that Geras's master did NOT want to happen. It was stated in an interview and shown in story mode that Kronika wanted Shinnok to ultimately be victorious.

I think the steam list is correct, it is just not all-inclusive. There are several characters missing, but if you fill in the blanks with the already-confirmed characters and Kitana + Johnny Cage (who are heavily implied due to having character models and/or concept art shown), we are up to 24. If we assume that there is a 25-spot base roster, and the Shao Kahn will be off in a separate slot due to being a pre-order bonus, we have two unconfirmed characters.

The way I see it, it's open season on speculation on those two roster spots, but Jacqui is 99% confirmed in my opinion. I guess there's no harm in speculating ways she might not be in, but don't set yourself up for disappointment should she eventually 100% confirmed.

Personally I don’t want either Jax or Jacqui in but unfortunately I think both will be in somehow especially if the steam leak and the tester leak are true which both appear to be at this stage

They would be dumb not to sell skins in this game and add them to DLC packs only.... Fortnite made 1 BILLION off of skins. Also Jax is a THREE letter name and the achievements are the first three letters of a character but since his name is already 3 letters long, I could see them using the name Jackson for his achievement list. I could care less for Jacqui or Jax so it really doesnt even matter to me as I like Noob Saibot, Kabal and Cyrax as my favorites so that can be debunked that I "hate" Jacqui. Cassie is in because she beat the big bad last game and replaces styker. I dont see any of the other ones returning and why would they bring back Jacqui over Takeda? The only good Kombat kid... doesnt make much sense.

It depends on what you mean by "microtransactions". Many people would consider something like an additional skin that you pay for to use to be a microtransaction. I am sure there will be some of those, as always. I think they were really saying there are not going to be loot boxes or anything that appears similar to gambling for in-game items.

I think the days of a lot of unlockable characters are behind us. I think 4 in Armageddon is the most we've had since Deadly Alliance and Deception both had around half the roster locked.

Me personally I wouldn't mind plenty of unlockable characters, but this being the age of Esports, instant gratification, lack of patience among other things, I doubt it would happen.

I think she’ll be in. It’s a good vibe to have female characters. Jacqui may not to be super-popular just yet, but they will develop her.

The only way I see her not being in this, is if they do mess with timelines and/or kill the Kombat kids, save Cassie, and her story is about saving them. But then Jacqui would be a major part of MK12 anyway.

I think what they’re saying is that there’s never been an MK with Baraka but not Mileena. To me, for some roster uniqueness, that would be a reason for her NOT to be in this one, but it’s kind of a shame, because the timeline stories mean you can play a lot with her. Revenge against D’Vorah, how does she fit with Kitana (and which Kitana), etc.

We’ve also got a lot of female “ninjas” already. They can obviously move past that description with differences in their aesthetics in modern games, but we’ve got Kitana, Jade and Skarlet that are either confirmed or VERY likely. And maybe even Frost. I think you’ve kind of got to take a hit on the hypothetical “palette swaps” at some point (I’m using that term liberally).

I think this is plausible and would actually love Jax as all the other special forces are back and him fighting with the new technology vs MK2 Jax would be awesome! For that reason I doubt it though

Lol the horror, everybody already accepted Jacqui now because Jax isn't in (they think) so it will be less stupid than MKX, but then instead of Noob, Shang or Rain, the last spot goes to Jax and there will be another Briggs-Family Trailer in the end around april, making the roster even more horrid than it already is!

Is there any doubles on the trophy list such as 2 JAC and 2 RAI? (Rain and raiden)? Why is 5 of them missing on the trophy list? Also yes, by microtransactions , i actually meant skins being sold like crazy this game not loot boxes. Reptile noon, and smoke would kill the skin market and should be in the game if they were smart as well as shangtsung as he can be many ages in the skin department. This could be their most profitable game ever made. I hope they stick with 2-3 guest and 9-10 MK assuming DLC is 6 and 6. Spawn , and pennywise are good enough and the the myers people don't allow gear skin swaps so that license is pointless to get. Take advantage of skin sales instead WB.

I keep seeing people go back to that tidbit of information, and I have a serious question...

Is there any ACTUAL evidence that any of that was ACTUALLY true, beyond the guy's own statement and thirdhand word of mouth?

I never heard of this guy before that incident, but I gather he was a name of at least some note (vlogger, or pro-gamer, or both, I honestly have no idea). The FIRST I ever heard of this story was, secondhand, people said he claimed he was uninvited from reveal day for leaking 5 characters. (Note: the first thing I heard was not even that he'd revealed five characters, but that he had been dis-invited for allegedly having already revealed five characters)

I never saw him produce an actual invite, as many people did. Saw lots of invitees post those black & gold fancy schmancy invitations with the coin. Did this guy ever do that? Serious question, maybe he did have a proven invite, and I'm just not aware. Do we have ANY reason to firmly believe he was actually invited in the first place? Beyond him just saying he had been invited and disinvited?

Then after all this, he apparently recanted and said he made the whole thing up... which people tend to ignore. I've seen people dismiss his recant as, "Oh that's just damage control. He's trying to get back in NRS good graces!"

Or here's a novel idea: Maybe he made the whole thing up!

I keep seeing this story about him leaking 5 characters and getting dis-invited tossed around as third hand gossip as if it's a solid and proven leak we can take to the bank, but I've never seen one stitch of ACTUAL evidence to suggest any of his information was credible to begin with. Other than apparently the guy flat out said it wasn't credible! ...

This is true... I also noticed they are doing endings 2 games apart as the kollector and kronika were in mk9 endings and taven daegon ending tease with kenshi and takeda is most likely for mk12. Since Takeda will be in the next roster for story purposes than they could wrap up cassies story in this game and try to redeem Jacqui while they rotate the kombat kids on the roster like any other no character in the series. Its still weird seeing Quan chi, kenshi and ferra/torr out when those are boons favorites?!

Quan Chi and Kenshi have been in just about every game since their creation and they were both even added to the classic based MK9 roster- I think a game off would do wonders in recharging both characters- particularly Quan Chi.

Ferra/Torr may be Boon's favorite but he's not the only one who has a hand in deciding the roster and considering there's honestly far more exciting choices out there for this particular game, I think their inclusion would be a waste.

They weren't implied dead but geras does say that Sonya and cages kid defied fate as if he was implying she's the only one to make the new timeline or survive death. Kitana hasn't been seen in gameplay or in trophy list nor we was she on kombat kast and I've only seen her in story mode. I'm starting to wonder if she's DLC. Jacqui is going to make the roster before her? Lol?

Or

She "defied destiny" for beating Shinnok or even existing in the first place. It's vague enough that it could be interpreted any number of ways.
