Oh, because you think Kitana and Cage are not confirmed. They kind of are actually. From my calculations that just leaves 1 more in the 25 or 2 more if there are 26. Everybody did the same calculations, do them again.

Most chances are for Noob and Shang. If one of them isn't, he will be DLC. rain has slim chances too cause of that menu picture, but he's grouped together with Reptile, Shinnok and Cyrax, so...

Just an FYI, TER is confirmed to be Geras. There is a pic on TYM boards (Leak Thread) from the Russian MK event, Geras's variation is called something TER_VER2 or something like that. Also TERRA means Earth so it was most likely his condename at the time.

If true, that's 4 spots left (of which Kitana and Cage are likely 2)

GOOD find! I will take this as legit enough, which means there is one extra space to speculate over! I was hoping this game would not be too crazy with new characters; I'd rather have a cyber or a post-MK3 character than a brand new one

This is more likely actually. The steam achievements wouldn't give data which is not updated. Why would they show data which was just a placeholder for Geras? More likely Geras became Geras and another new character ended up with the "Ter..." name

Erron was still referred to as Nomad in MKX files, as was Kotal to Aztec. Its just easier to keep it than change it. Multiple people on multiple sites are claiming Geras had a placeholder name and were only getting like 3-4 newbies, considering if you include Kronika so I believe its a done deal. Geras was included in that steam leak under a different name.

Not to mention in that pic, Sonya’s variation is also SON_VAR2

Son is her name in the steam database so pretty cut and dry.

Now I’m wondering if KOL could be Kollector of souls, aka Shang Tsung. I could swear in one of the MK day interviews someone said there would be another new character, as in one new, not multiple. Maybe CET is the only other new character ?

I've been wondering about that myself... or also, what if they took this (supposed, not confirmed) Kollector in a bit different direction and it's actually Shujinko?

Either way, I vaguely recall hearing some whispers about a returning character who's supposed to be way different from before. Maybe I'm just misremembering that -- has anyone heard anything like this from an official source? If so, something like a Shang/Shujinko update to a brand new character identity could fit the description.

We don't really know when the steam achievements were updated. The inner workings of how and when each code gets updated is a mystery to anyone besides maybe the database architects and employees at steam. I would say the fact that there is evidence that Geras's original name did start with "Ter" now gives us reason enough to assume that "Ter" most likely refers to Geras now.

It's denial thinking Jacqui isn't in the game at this point. It would say JAX if it was referring Jax, since that's what Jax referred to.

And Cet seems to be referring to some sort of water creature according to some folk.

Kollektor is a cyborg, Cet is a female monster of sorts and it’s Jacqui. Indeed it would’ve said Jax.

Well if its based off their variation code names then yes it would make sense to be Jacqui, however, sources to the game are reporting that shao khan has one of the 25 slots like Goro did in MKX and kronika is not playable. so we only have 4 slots left that are not in the game files and Kitana and Cage still dont have a steam trophy list. she is mentioned alot and in the story mode and Cage is in a background stage. I wanna say Kitana is 100% confirmed but she really isn't and could possibly be DLC for some dumb reason. Kitana Kahn, Kotel Kahn and Shao kahn.... too many kahns on the roster. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 11 palette ninjas lol... Mileena, kitana, reptile, smoke, noob, ermac, rain. Nightwolf isn't even in the game or Quan chi, so why were we expecting Noob saibot to be in the game again?

You're setting yourself up for huge disappointment if you're trying to convince yourself that Jacqui won't be in. She will be.

No microtransactions doesn't mean they won't allow you to purchase things like unlocking the krypt all at once (they usually offer that) or buying consumables that are used in towers etc.

well yea, we been figured this out when we seen the steam list was based off the fighting style codes and not the character names. Jax turned out to be in as well.
