Well then I guess if I were a betting man, I'd've lost. That's disappointing.
But uh...who exactly is James Fink, and where did he make this statement?

Disappointing if true, i lost that bet as well. Still hoping for something. if not E3 i guess maybe end of August-september PAX or Gamescom
Well, MK9 was oversaturating the scene around E3, we were left with no surprises, MKX had a calmer presence but also a lot was leaked.
MK11 is already sounding different if it didn't get revealed at E3 and I guess the chances are that it won't be revealed this week, but sometimes during the summer.
I just don't like the fact that Ed didn't hint about it's absence (I know he never hinted about it's presence either, but there are peeps who might have bought tickets to E3 just to see it in person, you know !)
Anyway, I hope they reveal as little as they can outta the game, I just want a mysterious MK2/MKSM/MKD like MK game.

Fink is the guy who leaked X's roster and supposedly is in the know.

Why couldn't this ending have happened?

I guess all we can do is hope for something at San Diego Comic Con.

This game will be revealed on Thursday.

Well, who knows at this point. Apparently there are multiple “secret panels” littered throughout the show’s schedule. Boon has gone radio silent, but is indeed confirmed to be at e3. Still hope?

Unfortunately that’s not true. During Sony’s conference they showed Destiny 2, COD Black Ops 4, Residents Evil 2 and both companies showed off Kingdom Hearts while MS showed CyberPunk, Devil May Cry and many more which are coming to both systems.
Im still hoping MK gets a look in but it’s seeming more and more unlikely.

Exactly right. If I'm not mistaken MKX was shown at Sony's conference during E3 2014 or whatever year before the game came out. If it hasn't been announced by now I am no longer expecting it. I know WB has their own conference but it's not like the ones that came before E3. During one of those would have been the ideal time.

I think it’s completely idiotic not to show MK11 at E3. It’s the biggest gaming convention of the year that everyone watches. Why would u not want to show it. SMH

Pig of the Hut is also saying he's been told MK will not be making an appearance so that's two people in the know.
It's just safe to assume at this point that the game has a longer development cycle this time around. Either the roster is way bigger, the characters are more fleshed out, they've upgraded the engine, other factors or a combination of all of the above.
I think the absolute EARLIEST we might see this game is perhaps October or November of next year. Perhaps they may be going back to that release window for this title to allow them more time. Wouldn't be the first time for MK; 4, DA, Deception, Armageddon and vsDC all came out in that window of time their respective release years. If that is the case we could easily get a reveal trailer around the time of The Game Awards later this year.

Well, as I see it, there are three possibilities moving forward...
1)The game will be announced at Evo (8/3-8/5). Biggest fighting game tournament of the year. Tons of eyeballs(not as many as e3...), possible tv time, etc. Not the worst outcome.
2)The game is announced at the Injustice Pro Series finale (TBA- October-ish). Injustice stream numbers are not great. What better way to give it a shot in the arm than to announce a new game. While this is later in the year, it would ultimately lead to a pretty much non stop hype train from October-April(providing that’s their intended launch date).
3) The least ideal, The game is nowhere near being announced and won’t show up until e3 2019. Possibly to coincide with a next gen release in 2020. Next gen MK. Good. One of the longest periods of time without a new installment in the history of the franchise. Bad.
My money’s on one of the first two. Super bummed MK didn’t make it to E3 this year. Was pretty much the only thing I was looking forward to.

I think we should wait until E3 is actually over before jumping to conclusions. WB has their press conference tomorrow.

To coincide with this, as you said ONE of the longest breaks between releases, let's just hope this one has more kontent than mk:da did, considering the 5 year gap between 4 and itself!

Wouldnt hold your breath on that. Unless multiple in the know sources have decided to decieve us.
Again, my bet is December 18 reveal, character reveals through early 2019, appearance at E3 2019 and a release date in October or November 2019. That is what I am predicting. I dont think its that far off, I think they just needed an extra 6 or so months of development time to get things right.

It would certainly be a huge departure from their usual schedule to not reveal in June, and subsequently release in April of the following year. But, if this means that they are not ready to show the game because they want to do more work on it, then so be it. It's better to show off an unfinished game that is in a highly playable state than to show off something that's barely passable (remember Cassie's busted ass face?).
I wouldn't be surprised i they switched over to Unreal 4 for this generation. If they did, even compared to MKX and Injustice 2, MKXI will be tremendously different and up to date. I can only imagine the degree of interactivity and fluidity of an MK built on Unreal 4.
We shall see. Ed has been uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter for almost 2 days. I still hold out hope that they're pulling the ultimate troll move and have a huge surprise reveal in store for us. Missing an E3 reveal isn't very good, but if they have their reason, then that's just fine.

My buddy Charles is at e3, and has seen mk 11 in action hidden in a secret panel, until its public reveal tomorrow at 5 p.m. est. Says it's going to blow people away. Scorpion, subby, mileena, Baraka, sheeva and Kintsro as selectables. Pit 3, dragonfly and a new rooftop level with thunderstorm as backgrounds. Drastic animation changes and health/stamina meters vertical, not horizontal. It is upon us!

Right lol cuz they would let people play that big of a game before revealing it

Yup. Charles is in the know.

Lmao, yeah, I can't wait to play as Kintsro. He the GOAT.

Could happen this way. It's just odd, unless it's an adventure game or more likely a cross generational game that will land on PS5/Next gen XBox.
