I am fairly confident Jade and Noob will make it in the game this time around. I just wish my man Human Smoke is in the game, with a different voice actor while keeping his luscious silver hair , haha. They could explore the idea of his inner battle with Enenra, so they could have like a human version skin and a demon/half demon version of him. That would be amazing!

As you mentioned, we already got Baraka and Kabal so that's a good sign for your theory.

I would guess, since we got a version of smoke playable, we won't be seeing him again this time around. I would be happy if we did, but I don't expect it.

I would love to see Fujin. To be honest, I would be pretty surprised if we got Li Mei, Sareena, or Sindel. Again, I would be happy to see them!

Why do you count Kabal as a "major cameo" when he had the same screen time of Stryker and less than Sindel?

I love both Fujin and Sareena but I am doubtful that they will be in the base Roster.

Cameo's since the reboot, to me, mean that NRS still thinks the character is relavent but did not make the roster, only initially. For MKX Tanya and Bo Rai Cho had appearences in the story mode and made it on the roster eventually. A cameo is good in that NRS still has plans for the character and is updating the character's story even if they are not playable.

Yeah Kabal’s definitely on the low end in terms of cameos, but he did get to do more (riding a demon horse toward the enemies in the Netherealm attack sequence) than Stryker. I could probably put Nightwolf on the list as well, albeit at the lowest end with Stryker, as you basically just see them and that’s it. Kabal at least got to do something, even if it wasn’t much.

Smoke really only got to say “Smoke is dead, I am Enenra.” So it’s not like all of these cameos were big, but he’s still rumored to be in the next game.

i don’t think all of these cameo characters will make it in, but it certainly seems to me that with the way they’ve handled cameos in the past, it should at least increase the probability for some of them.

At least in theory.

Rain had a pretty large Cameo in MKX as well.

He has popped up in the Konquest Game mode art, he has an ability in the towers of time and SonicFox mentioned that he would be Maining Rain in MK11 (though we cant be sure if he actually slipped by saying this or if he was just trolling).

Ah you’re absolutely right! Can’t believe I left him off the list. Good call there. I’d probably put his cameo near the top with Fujin, Li Mei, Baraka and Sindel in terms of how much they appeared, what they did, etc. Thanks for reminding me!
