Maximillian Dood brought up an interesting idea: this could be a custom character you create specifically for this Krypt mini-game, and it could even include picking moves for him (or her if you choose to make a female), and brawler style fights in addition to exploration. So the Krypt could basically be like a mini version of Koquest or Shaolin Monks.

I'm not sure about the fighting part of it but I do think he is most likely on the right track with the custom character speculation. This looks like an example of a custom character to me. I don't think it's gonna turn out to be some named new character who comes pre-designed.

I think NRS could be trolling Rain fans by saying it's not him and that he's not in the game at all and then suddenly they'll reveal him as a playable character (or he's a super unlockable, that would also explain why they keep denying he's in).

Could he be the Kollector character slot? That would make sense, given his role with the krypt. Perhaps the one we've been calling the Kollector is a name that hasn't yet been leaked?

Well it sure isn't Mileena and if Mileena isn't included I'm canceling my pre order... Jokes aside, I thought it could be Rain at first too but now it is seeming more feasible that it isn't. There is always a chance for him to be added as dlc though, but if not, not a big deal to me.

Its shujinko and in the krypt is 6 komdagu. When you unlock them all, Onaga will be resurrected. Shujinko also gonna team up with shang tsung to beat that ass on Kassie Cage.... she wont be beating up on older men no longer!

According to the leaked picture of the select screen there should still be 3 characters in the base roster that are not yet confirmed. Most likely Mileena, Smoke, and Shinnok. I wonder if one (or perhaps all) of them will be unlocked by this Krypt mode. It would be a fantastic reward.

Whoa, where are you getting Smoke from? I only recall Shang, Mileena, Jax and Shinnok being the ones mentioned who weren't in that leaked roster image?

Well, someone else has to be in that last base roster slot. Smoke just seems like the most logical to me considering they've already got everyone else who was introduced in MK2 originally.

Never search for logic when it comes to MK rosters my friend. Logically a lot of characters should be on this roster who aren't or are DLC. *cough* Reptile *cough*.

I hope they at least give Reptile a cromulent excuse for sitting out, and that excuse doesn't involve getting his head ripped off.

Have Kotal send him off to the badlands on a mission or something. Or better yet, since Kotal values him, say that after MKX calmed down, he allowed Reptile to journey off on his own for a way to restore/find his people.

Just don't give him the Baraka in MKX treatment.

But I think we are going to see Reptile get the shit end of the stick and be given the Baraka treatment because that's how NRS do.
