I had to say it. Last trailer with 21 Garbage was fucking trash. The new trailer is epic. The music is dope. MORTAAAAAL KOMBAAAAAT

Is that Eminem?

I had to Shazam it yesterday. Good tune. No idea why people keep thinking it's Eminem though.

It’s a pretty great song, a nice step up from the more mellow 21 savage track(which I didn’t hate).

We need X Gon Give It To Ya for the launch trailer.
They're a game late for that one, don't you think?

I thought it was Eminem. Especially at 1:55 and beyond, the voice is a lot lighter and has all the traits of Eminem.

I thought it sucked. I hate rap in trailers, though.
FB: Trans4Materia Card Game I invented "Circling Vulture, Laughing Hyena"
True story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine... EVERYBODY!
I also thought it sounded like Eminem. YouTube commenters too, the other day.

I dont know why nrs keep making their trailers with garbage "rap" songs. Rap has nothing to do with mortal kombat. They are just too stupid doing that.
Normally I would agree, but I found this song to fit well with the trailer (maybe because I initially thought it was Eminem :) ).

Dawg don't be hatin. What would you prefer they use instead? The Rolling Rocks? The Metals that are too Heavy? Don't no kids wanna hear that shiz. You wanna be hip and cool you gotta get with the times and use what the peeps like.

This new song had intensity, and a cadence more appropriate to the action, that was lacking in the last two rap trailers. I am cool with this one.

An album of 90s dance music tracks featuring a falsetto voice repeating "Ohhh-oh-ohhh-oh, lost soul bent on revenge" as a theme for Scorpion seemingly still remains the defining soundtrack for dismemberment and murder for a lot of people. Rap is simply too upbeat to fit a series that inspired the famously grim and brutal opus Chinese Ninja Warrior. No modern lyricist can top "Freezing vibrations" as an encapsulation of the Zeitgeist that spurred Sub-Zero's popularity.

I thought it was Eminem too. This guys flow is the same as Eminem's in one of his songs which I can't remember now.
The song you're thinking of is "Til I Collapse".
Every white dude in the gym is currently pumping iron to it.
Eminem hasn't rapped in a way that normal people can enjoy for awhile. I think people say it sounds like him cuz it's a nasally voice yelling at the beat.
Huge fan; I just love to talk shit about Em.
As for whomever wrote something to the effect of "rap music in trailers suck", I wager you're simply not a fan of the genre itself and the only rappers you've ever given (if ever) a chance are Immortal Technique, a random artist from Army of the Pharoahs and/or Eminem.
It baffles me that people feel a certain genre of music doesn't belong in a TRAILER (not even the actual game). It's like saying certain demos don't exist or enjoy the series. What if the little black kids in Chicago inspired their musical choices? What if Ed Boon, the Hispanic, put fucking mariachi music in a trailer?
People who say things like this make my balls itch.

You're saying I'm not listening to rap? ????
I don't believe you're the one who made the dumb statement. You specified that you didn't like 21 Savage's song in that trailer, a statement I can understand.
The person in question said "rap/hip hop doesn't belong in Mortal Kombat" and thinking this way is the reason MK music is stale as fuck now. They've stopped working different genres into the in-game music for the most part it seems.
Asesino, I don't know your relationship with my culture, but I'm sure the person I was addressing doesn't even dabble in it to make statements like that.
I will say this: I wouldn't want those casio keyboard preset type "hip hop" beats. Something unique.

Ok kool. I hate mumble rap. This track in the last trailer is a type of rap I like. Your culture tho? Its mine!
I can understand that. I always tell people though, it shouldn't be about the sound, but the message. While 21 might not have a hype flow, I can only comprehend the choice being due to the violent lyrics/popularity. I do like the contrast, personally. It's why I like to layer clean samples with dirty instruments or swap the idea around in my production.
