I hope I'm wrong, but I'm getting the feeling this is another "The girls don't look like skanks" thread.

This thread is just to point out an observation that I made after seeing the Kombat Kast today. Jade, Skarlet, and Jacqui, all have the same costume. Skarlet’s is red. Jade’s is brown and green, and Jacqui’s is white. It’s one of each of their alternates, but it’s pretty much the same costume. How did no one else notice that?

Now that you mention it yeah, some of the costumes are (a bit) bland.

The default costumes aren't exactly overly detailed, you're right. I wonder if that ended up being the case because so many options are going to be offered with customization so the developers didn't feel compelled to add as much detail to the defaults.

It’s not exactly the same.

All male characters have the sash thing between their legs in some costume.. the girls have a long dash front and back and on the sides. If I am making the correct assumption on which costume you mean.

Yhea I noticed as well the same alternative costume really weird. Does not fit the special forces theme at all.

Regardless, it looks good on her. So I really don't care if it fits the theme or not. Not every costume does.

Jade n Skarlet are pallette swap ninjers, Jaqui had a ninjer cosplay outfit p1 color Scorpion/Cyrax, p2 was Khrome. People want her to be a cyber ninja. Ninja = pallette swap in MK. Erron shared an alt with Reptile. Shao Kahn's base look counts as ninja not just because of Reiko, but several of the ninjas in MKX had bare chest w shoulder pads/pauldrons.

As much as some want to move beyond the pallette swap days, it seems we can't escape some characters sharing design elements.
