If not Hydro, I’d like to see a brand new cyborg. New coloring, new name, completely new moveset. I think it’s time. We’ve had the main three this whole time and while one was replaced with another, Cyber Sub was essentially story retconned a game later. Sektor and Cyrax seem to be gone and while Triborg exists, it’s still (to me), more of a method for getting the original three in as DLC and less about it being a specific character.

I mean sure, fine, have him/them create or resurrect the Tekunin, but what comes out of a new cyber initiative should be the star. I’d prefer to see that over the old cyber ninjas, but that’s just me.

If it does it will only be Triborg because NRS doesn't see the value in Cyrax and Sektor as characters and views them as interchangeable.

I like the idea of Triborg.. however I think they would need to lock his 3 variations. He wouldn’t fit the MK11 format.

If Sektor's missiles and Cyrax's Net would be 2 slots each, that would make it impossible for those to be in the same variation.

True, as long as they did something to eliminate the chance for overlapping specials I’d be fine.

They don't even need to mess around with slots. The variation system already HAS moves that are mutually exclusive. IE. "Selecting this move prohibits you from selecting this other move"

They need only make selecting one prohibit the other.

That said, I'm only saying this for the sake of discussion... I personally have no problem with Triborg using a smattering of all their moves interchangeably, because he's supposed to be the ultimate Cyborg, and theoretically should have that capability. Khameleon & Chameleon already do it, I see no reason he shouldn't as their Cyborg equivalent.

Also, even the original cyborgs stole eachothers moves occasionally. Sektor used Smoke's invisibility in cutscenes during MK9. Smoke used Cyrax's bombs in his MK3 fatality. There's precedent implying they have access to abilities which aren't necessarily their signature abilities.

That said I also don't really like Triborg, and would prefer they just brought one or both of the existing Cyber Ninjas back. But they probably won't do that either.

If Kronika wants to restore the story Raiden changed, Cyber Smoke has to be in the Story, because Human Smoke doesn't belong to old timeline after MK-3

It would be nice if when she got to that bit in the timeline where Raiden saved Smoke and decided it be best to not save Sub-Zero, she just takes him aside for a moment and goes "The fuck were you thinking? Why not just save both!?."

I have to ask, are you referencing Phelan Porteous? :) He's an amazing YouTuber who reviewed every episode of MK Conquest in depth, and he would often call Raiden God of Useless. If not that's a series a highly recommend. I don't like many YouTube guys, but this guy is fantastic.

I am indeed referencing Phelous haha. I don't really think anyone can argue at this point that that's not a valid mantle for Raiden.

I'd rather Triborg be a largely non-canon character.

I admit having Triborg in the roster for customization sake would be rather fun, as it would allow us to create our own cyborgs. Still, storywise I think he should stay out, and I'd still rather have Cyrax or Sektor at that.

I've never cared for Sektor or Cyrax. Closest I ever came was in MK(2011) when they were human / before they were cyberised. Once they were cyberised yet again, I lost all interest in them yet again.

Smoke.... I've always preferred human form, and now with the new timeline I'd rather see more of this Enenra entity instead.

Cyber-Sub-Zero was kinda cool (puns!). Never I've been interested in normal SZ, so CSZ was the first cyber / ice character I actually liked.

Tri-borg is kinda a new cyborg character. Well, really it's more android as it's fully artificial - Its mind is an AI rather than a person. So you could say that this AI is called Tekunin and it controls all the Tekunin androids like a hive-mind. It's only natural it would contain all the moves from Tri-borg and any other Lin Kuei characters.

That's what I was saying though, I would rather just forget him all together. Just ignore him and bring back Sektor or Cyrax and treat them with respect. But due to Triborg, I don't think NRS sees any value in them. Triborg I believe is their statement on how little value they see in those characters.

In their eyes they're still just pallet swaps and aren't worth fleshing out beyond that.

Well before the over simplified reboot that was MK9, Sektor and Cyrax were both AI controlled as well. Cyrax broke free from it in MK4 and it malfunctioned in Sektor which is why he became evil. It went insane and all borg on everyone.

I'd take Sektor just because I think he's been the most underused of the trio. Also he's awesome

Such an underutilized character and severely unrealized major villain in the series.

I would prefer hydro to be a hidden boss that walks right off the platform and fights you in super cyber speed. The reasoning for this is

1. We need a non-playable hidden boss under certain conditions again. This was classic of MK.
2.His color is too close to cyber sub-zero and it does not make sense.
3.He has water abilities so they can give him rains moveset (and put rain in the game instead) and give him someone elses moveset like a cyborg, combine them and you have a classic boss. (reptile was scorp and sub) (jade was a kitana mixture etc) so hydro would be a rain and cyborg moveset. He could be rain and noob saibot (using noobs black holes and recoloring them blue) and giving him his tele slam.
4. Rather have rain, then this guy who looks and has a same moveset as 2 other characters. (CSZ and Rain).
5. Would allow fan boys to have their fan service hydro in a game without taking a roster spot and pissing other people off.

Please stop with the unplayable characters thing.

It's a thing from the past. Nowadays everyone, bosses included should be playable at least in the offline modes.

Hydro is generic as shit in color and in special moves. We dont need that trash playable. This is what shut down the 3D era. We dont need any generic characters, Jacqui is enough. He can be playable in another game when he is actually unique like Skarlett is now. Also, Kronika is not playable, so???

Since the game is dealing with time travel manipulation bullshit, I thought it would've made sense to include Cyrax still buried in Jade's desert before Special Forces rescues his sandy ass. And Smoke before or after.

The Lin Kuei. The Lin Kuei retrieved him and then him being deployed again is what lead him to meet up with the Special Forces. And yeah it would have made sense to have a Cyborg character wouldn't it?
