I didn't count human Smoke, MK 1 Sub-Zero and I did count both Khameleon and Chameleon.
So I guess C/K/hameleon both are out. that's 30 characters. Then minus Goro, Motaro, Kintaro and Shao Kahn that makes 26.
booN actually confirmed all fighters and not the sub-bosses and the boss. That's my guess.
But then again I would like to see both chameleons, cuz I'm ninja crazy and I did like them in MK A.
Also Tremor and Blaze wouldn't hurt either :)

Yeah, omit the four bosses, and the two chameleons, and you're left with 26 characters.
So yeah, we pretty much know everyone whose gonna be in the game.

I hope to see at least one new person...

There might be new characters, folks. Boon said there would be "surprises."

I think they'll replace Sheeva and Stryker with someone else... too bad for Stryker, i do think he is a bland character, but i want him to return!

I think it'll be the Trilogy roster, minus C/Khameleon and the bosses, and swap Classic Sub-Zero for Quan-Chi.
I'm having a hard time believing that they're going to erase a character as popular as Noob-Saibot from existence.

For what? All of the MK1-MK3 characters who weren't in MKvsDC are LIKE new characters. We haven't seen them in ages and they're not gonna play the same way.
As much as I love the iconic cast of characters, nobody would really argue that someone like "Stryker" or "Rain" are "iconic". I wouldn't mind them sitting out in favor of characters from the Mythologies/MK4 and MK:DA era. We all like Kenshi and Quan Chi, and I'm quite fond of Li Mei, Sareena, and Fujin.

Khameleon has such an interesting story. Ugh. Sucks she probably won't make it.

I hope not.
There are so many unused ideas and concets that could be included.

Or a secret like in MK4.

Actually, the reason that's there is because Kahn and Darkseid are in the game as DLC.

I think what they did with Rain in MK:A was fantastic. Certainly he was nothing special except for being broken in Trilogy, but of all the characters 'reintroduced' in MKA, I'd say that they did him best. Don't worry about ninja overload, though - we didn't get to play as Rain until MKT, so he doesn't count in the 'MK1-3" bracket. Stryker's going to be in the game because he's pretty central to MK3 - MK3 would not have been the same without him.
I'd argue that Li Mei and Sareena's chances are very, very slim, since they're not really the 'iconic' characters of the MKDA+ games, and Fujin's chances are slightly higher than those two.
Also, I really like Sheeva. It might be because I love the idea of a female who also happens to be a hideous monster, or just because of how awesome she was in the MKA opening - actually, that's not true. I've always liked her ever since she first came out.
tl;dr - I agree that there will probably be no surprises in the 26 if this is MK1-3.

How is Li Mei NOT an iconic character from MKDA-MKD-MKA? She was the only female to be playable in all 3 games AND one of the only 6 characters to be playable in all 3 games. I really think she was the most popular female from the second trilogy.

Honestly, they should have canned the whole ninja bit and gave him a completely different outfit. Make him like warriorish, but also like a decedent of a God. We have enough ninjas (or pseudo-ninjas) as it is.

I hope they stick with Rain in the fighters roster!

"In the most games" and "most popular" are two different things.
Li Mei was incredibly bland except for in Deception when her soul had some Dragon King Mummy left behind in it and she like fell in love with Onaga and even then, most people actually really hated that ending for some reason.
There was a poll topic or two for what characters from MK4 thru Armageddon people would want as DLC, and I don't think Li Mei ever even came up. The female with the most votes, weirdly enough, was Nitara.
Sareena came in second I believe.

I doubt Boon and company brought Li Mei back in Deception if she was unpopular and hated, seriously, especially considering that only 3 new-MKDA characters returned in MKD (one of them being Kenshi, who was easily the most popular of them all). Not to mention she was shaping up to be the new heroine.
