Concern about the Online Pass

This was probably brought up before, but...

I'm a PS3 owner. But, when creating the account, something happened that split my e-mail and username into 2 accounts. My e-mail being the master, and my username being the sub. Whenever I add funds to the wallet, I need to enter them through the master.
I can only enter codes through the master, so I was a bit confused as to whether the code would act as a download that installs on the PS3 and works with all accounts on that console, such as DLC and games, or not?

Note that I've never had a game that used this feature, its new to me.

Sorry if I sound stupid, I'm not very smart when it comes to stuff like this

Not sure if this will help, but I got UFC 2010 for 360 and it had this online pass thing. Well when they were talking about it they said it would not only register that specific profile but the console too. So if it works in this way then whatever profile you redeem it on will be the only one to use it and can only use it on that console. Don't know much bout ps3 so sorry if this doesn't help
