i may have to do a design for her although i wont be taking my inspiration from that hideous costume pictured, I'm thinking maybe black and red hair

More poor science. Redheads in fiction both male and female wear red (or red and black) almost more than any other color.

Kira, Bloodrayne, Jessica Rabbit, Dark Phoenix and her alt universe daughter Rachel, Batwoman, Scarlet Witch (sometimes she's a redhead, sometimes a brunette, it's inconsistent), and Orion, Wally West Flash, Daredevil, Carnage, and the current Ant-Man are all redheads under their cowls/helmets/symbiote.

The other most worn color by redheads seems to be green, but after that, you rarely see any other colors on them.

I'm extremely curious to know why so many people want her to be blond.

Skarlett and Ruby are two different people. One's a popular rumored character and the other, a shitty Jade copy in a cartoon.

GODDAMMIT, just because their hair is red doesn't mean Skarlett's should be! If anything, the fact that their hairs are red should be a reason to make her hair blond. You don't want her to fit in, you want her to stand out, especially with all the dull characters we've seen as of late. This character needs to be unique and original, not based off of comic book characters.
