Sooo, at this point I'm thinking most of the favorites from MK9 will most definiltely be back, and not zombie. Maybe for a lil while but they will be playable humans in the next game.

My reasons why. 2015 is looking like the release date for the next MK game, and if I've waited 4 years at that point for another MK it better not be for Frost, or pretty much any group of MK characters unless a good portion of the old cast is there as well. I'm looking at you Sub-Zero.lol.

So, yeah. I was once worried because I was expecting about a 2 1/2 years or so for another MK. Now that it's most likely four years or longer though, hell to the naw I better be getting some of my favorites back if I'm waiting that long.

Other fighting games have hellaciously large rosters, and while I don't expect our roster to be that big I don't think that at least 35 would kill anybody, and that's not including DLC.

I think the ones who died will come back in the zombie army in MK 10 (Sub Zero may come back playable depending on what the writers want to do with him)

We'll probably see the characters who arrived in MK 4 and some from DA and Deception as it's probably an Earthrealm and Outworld alliance versus the Netherealm.

The massacre has been something that has been on my mind. MK has many characters throughout the course of the old timeline. I think some characters were given good development in MK 9 and need a break so some characters can get a makeover. I think most of the characters in the zombie army will be NPC's and will come back after MK 10. Give other characters a time to shine.

I'm not exactly sure how to say this, but in the beginning of MK 9, everyone was dead except for Rayden and Khan. With the end of the MK 3 chapters, Khan's ultimate victory was there and there was no hope. The Elder Gods interfered finally and Armaggedon won under Khan no longer happens. The old timeline is gone, perhaps someone noble wins Armaggedon or Armaggedon never happens. I always thought the idea of the One Being would be neat as a boss to end the series and was dissappointed when it wasn't followed after Deception.

A new timeline is made and who knows what happens. Some things will still happen and some things will change. The MK story in some ways is resembling the Terminator movies in regards to timelines. I remember the things said "No fate but what we make" as said in T2 and some things were just inevitable like in T3 or the future being different in T4. Things have changed, but some things are just inevitable.

Just some random thoughts. I've been busy with work so I haven't been posting as much.

Yeah, I like your ideas man. Some of them need a break. just not Sub-Zero.lol. I can't go without him, not even a game. Frost is no replacement either so people need to stop throwing her name around.

They die all the time. Staying dead is the tricky part.

I think because Sub-Zero became a cyborg then died and became a zombie, Frost will (maybe) have an important role in the next game as: A human who uses ice powers, a link to Sub's ancestry, someone who has a shady personality & motives.

Frankly thinking about it, all the characters that heve been in backgrounds (the pit, Shang's garden, Kahn's coliseum) are the most likely to have spots in the next roster, just for the fact that they were deemed important enough to be included here. Potentially that's good news for all the Frost, Reiko, Tanya, Blaze, Sareena, Daegon, Kenshi, Skarlet fans
