I'm sure a lot of us hate the story, but I'm sure there had to be at least ONE part that was fun to play, so which one was it to you guys?
In My Opinion, Raiden's was the best, I thought the Zombie part was interesting to play, as well as Lui Kang's death, (Is he gonna be a zombie again, or...) and while Shao Kahn took about, 10 tries to beat, it was still a fun ride.

Nightwolf's.
All things considered, Nightwolf was one of my favorite parts of MK9 in general. They did that character justice for the most part (needed some buffs, though).

Scorpion's because it is Scorpion.

Sorry for being a fanboy... but... Jade's... I sincerely enjoyed hers the most.

People dwell on the characterization, but her gameplay and design captured everything I love about Jade. I sincerely hope she is playable in the next game.

I'm trying to think which one had the least instances of something not making sense or being offensively dumb...
I think it would be Scorpion's.
I liked Liu's too I guess, it had the most heart, what with the scene where he and Kitana meet...but it really bothers me that Goro's importance to the tournament was so nonexistent.

Nightwolf had a good chapter, except for his "MONSTER!" line. That was laughably bad. Not just the delivery, but the entire phrase itself. Whoever wrote that word in the script should be slapped across the face.
Anywho, my favorite chapter was Kung Lao's. It was strange to see him get beat by Scorpion, and then be able to beat the Deadly Alliance. But I wasn't complaining. For a split second, he FINALLY had his moment in the sun. Until Shao Kahn's bitch ass decided rules are for pussies and straight up kills a competitor in his tournament before the match even started.
So rather than have Kung Lao actually win the tournament, they kill him off to use him as a plot device for Liu Kang. Still a little bitter about that. But the chapter did have some cool moments.
- Kung Lao and Liu Kang's playful teasing
- First time we see Noob in the story
- Kung Lao finally had his time to shine, if only for a few seconds
- Liu Kang's reaction to Kung Lao's death
